  1. HRRR starting to look warmer aloft and more similar solution to the Euro
  2. CMC is also really nice. It would be nice to see the Euro come on board but this is a possible outcome.
  3. GFS continues to run colder aloft resulting in mostly snow for the immediate metro and far more significant totals
  4. That designation is saved for the RGEM
  5. Because it is and it should be discontinued
  6. SREF is a joke btw. ORD mean was at 5” this AM. 11” now
  7. I like how “chicago” has become synonymous with “everywhere west of Lake Michigan from Champaign to Green Bay”
  8. I’m still taking under for you mate
  9. Actually temps aloft are colder than prior runs
  10. Not convinced but wouldn’t be surprised
  11. Best result would be the small period of rain is under light returns and doesn’t do too much to what will have already fallen
  12. The euro is going hard on a 2-3 hour period of rain in the immediate metro between 18-21z tomorrow.
  13. I think that’s still possible. 00z Euro had mixing and poor ratios in the city
  14. The GEM is further south with its track which allows temps aloft to become much for favorable for LOT including immediate metro. QPF is lower but progged snow totals are higher. Verbatim even downtown would achieve warning criteria snows. Not to mention the track is more favorable for lake enhancement.
  15. GFS is starting to hint at subsidence somewhere around the I-80 corridor. I trust it won’t be until showtime that we know exactly where that sets up but someone will get screwed by it
  16. No issues immediately accumulating on paved surfaces here tonight. Prime it for Friday
