LOL. Getting 1900-1930 vintage would feel like a contemporary compared to our prior homes.
FYI--we're going to be having a moving sale next weekend (I think) in case you have any interest.
Yeah, I'll come by and say hello.

0.59" since the 14th of August here. 0.00" since the 22nd.
I love how W MA went from bone dry, parched earth to 3 weeks of tropical rains and now, dry dying lawns again.

Wow did it get humid. 80/74. AC back on.

Agree on all. At the end of the day, I know Petersham and Ashburnham will be ruled out based on distance. Having come from older homes though, I think the newer 1900-1930 classics in ORH are hard to beat. From an architectural standpoint, they are just fantastic.
Petersham/New Salem don't have a lot of offerings that come on the market. You would get much more bang for your buck in Worcester if you are into older architecture.
You could always commute Lunenburg, the slant stick, snow capital of MA.

I’ll let Will clarify that area, but I think Petersham actually averages less then areas to be easy being lower el.

Petersham is gorgeous with stately old houses on rolling farmland and orchards. I have noticed great snow retention there over the years. Probably similar snow average to Dave in Hubbardston.
Side note, Petersham Country Store has amazing food!

My wife is a VP at Clark, so we'll be looking in the ORH area. Worcester has the best houses--just fantastic architecture. We had lived there about 15 years ago.
If you move before winter it will ensure that W MA finally gets some signature snow storms.

Eyewall moves here like 3 years ago. But his first years after living in the south were rough. Definitely a lot of snow coming in nickels and dimes. These further west locations have more trouble tapping the Atlantic.
Last year BTV had about 95 inches.
Burlington has been on my short list of places I would go outside of W MA.
Northampton > Greenfield > Brattleboro corridor has been an awesome stomping ground but the cool stuff is spread out over 40 Miles. Burlington tempts me for its bigger town feel, it’s on the water and has better snow climo. Plus you are so close to Montreal!

I agree, your Tree House obsession is out of control.
Padawan, let me help you understand the way of New England IPA.

There are definitely scattered patches of yellows and a few orange red's showing themselves up this way. In fact, along route 2 it may not be a lot of color yet but there is a general fade going on.

I have never had the desire to go up in one of those things, like skydiving, it is low on my priority list for risky activities.

90/75. Second time this summer I've actually notice breathing is a bit tougher than usual.
May not be record temps but that is some special humidity right there.
88/74 at my house. The upper valley, for whatever reason, has escaped the nastiest heat but still pretty oppressive.
-
90/72. A lot of cloud debris limiting full sun.
It's pretty gross out but I thought that stretch a few weeks ago was worse.
-
89/72. We sauna.

Interesting air mass, the brunt of the heat is definitely S & E of here. We can often roast with the best of them but today topped at 90F at home and maybe 92F downtown but already down to 78F imby. Sure it's still DP's in the low 70's but feels like, just a warm summer evening, on a train bound for nowhere, maybe I'll meet up with a gambler?

WTF is up with all of the early school dismissals over some hot weather? 91F for a high here today, expecting similar or just a little higher tomorrow.
Hmmm, perhaps I will call in sick and tell my boss it is too hot to work.
