Today was stunning, warm and dry. Could use more of that with rain every 3rd or 4th day to get my vegetable and herb garden going.

Actually that's just the chemicals causing the cloud drops to evaporate.
Wait, what? I thought the chemicals were to hide UFO activity!?!

Yeah. The end part of June has been sort of advertising itself as the first real heat look for a bit. Could be toasty
Doesn't matter, it's 56F in mid-Jun, summer's back is already broken even if we torch for a stretch.
I feel like this summer has been that lawn mower that takes 30 minutes of dickering before you get it started.

A few hours of steady rain but 58F and mostly cloudy now.

Overcast 65°

Over 1" last night.

Over .50" now with +RA

.20” so far, moderate rain atm.

Interesting pattern, no prolonged big heat but definitely summer heat and dews at times interspersed with some BN temps. Just wish we could get a 5 day stretch with no rain to kind of hit the climate reset button.

What is the earliest that you have seen snow?
5 hours ago, powderfreak said:October 3rd. I've seen freezing rain in September on the mountain but never straight snow (it's usually because the orographic precip lift happens so low in the atmosphere that even -3C 850mb can just be super cooled water droplets)....but the COOP has recorded September snow before and I believe even late-August traces as well.
I've been in sticking snow hiking the Lincoln-Lafeyette ridge line on Sept 20th. Late 90's but not sure what year. We were prepared but a lot of hikers were not and it got pretty dicey for some folks.

I'm not a big fan of having to put my heat on in my car in the morning......in June......
Toughen up buttercup!
I left the house with a sweatshirt this morning.

.4" from 3 rounds of showers. Won't need to water the new vegetable transplants tomorrow.

Good 15 minute downpour but only one low rumble of thunder.

Got 3/4 of the vegetable garden planted and now taking a liquid lunch break with a Troegs "Field Study" IPA.

NAM nailed this week with the mank wedge all week despite pretty warm colors aloft. Heck, the gfs and euro were still hitting well into the 70s/80s for yesterday and today as of yesterday morning.
So were many on air forecasters.

Must mean fall starts after July 4th?
Lol, my aunt and uncle had a house up in the Lakes Region in the 70's and 80's and I remember they and their neighbors used to joke about that. "after Fourth of July the summer is practically over"
