  1. Some pretty good freight train gusts, I was fully expecting a tree on the house. So far, so good with the personal property but some nice cracks and thuds in the woods. Side note, I went out with the flashlight to look for trees down and watched a Mink walking about. That was kind of cool.
  2. The line of severe storms was tame, compared to the post passage gusts here, the past 20 minutes. Nights like this are unnerving because I am surrounded by 60-90' pines.
  3. I think the hills W of the CRV tore it up a bit. Tropical downpour was fun at least.
  4. Sorry to hear that, it’s very frustrating and very emotional sometimes.
  5. I can hear the winds roaring up high so maybe folks in the Hilltowns over 1K el. are getting better gusts?
  6. It looked solid on radar but bark was much worse than it’s bite. Some very heavy rain for a few minutes and that’s about it. Winds didn’t even take the tarp off my wheelbarrow.
  7. No thunder or lightning and meh’ winds here. Rain was impressive, .25” in 15 minutes.
  8. That map has the highest gusts too far east of where they will actually be.
  9. In the early 90’s Donald Barlett and James Steele did an amazing nine part series for the Philadelphia Inquirer about how America was sold out by corporate greed and corrupt politicians. This is a good listen, Bill Myers discussing it with them: https://www.c-span.org/video/?26765-1/america-wrong
  10. SL is often king of spring in the northeast. in the spring I’m a big fan of narrow gauge and haulback.
  11. Yeah, five dollars is right around the corner all over the northeast. Rocketing to six dollars is what I would be worried about. Then you would start to see major implications for the economy, goods and services.
  12. This one is a must read, I’m about a quarter of the way into it.
  13. Where does the mountain stand in terms of snow anomaly for the season? I think you have a graph of that IIRC.
  14. This winter can just go away now. Way too much wood and oil burned for way too little snow.
  15. 36/29 here in the upper pioneer valley. High of 58F yesterday.
  16. The recession was already coming, this will just speed it up.
  17. OK. I figured it must’ve been something like that because I hear very few complaints about Stowe and Okemo.
  18. Yeah, sun came out and we went from 38 to 46 in about 15 minutes.
  19. We had maybe five minutes of light rain here. Cloud deck has now brightened up a little bit. 36/30
  20. Hunter, Wildcat and Attitash have not been well served by Vail ownership. At all.
