  1. Yes, the volatility of the pattern wrt to modeling, is why I have sat back and made very few posts the past few weeks. The pattern has snowy potential but everything is subject to change more than 3 - 4 days out. We wait. I have no doubt the interior sees a decent even before NYE.
  2. Living in W MA I don't get to Sugarloaf or Rangely much anymore but it is some of the best skiing and hiking in the Northeast. I used to spend a lot of time in the Carrabassett Valley and met some of the most friendly people there and still keep in touch with a few. You are correct though, Sugarloaf is the best April skiing in the East and is a joy to hang out at apres ski. There is something about that mountain and the people there that has always been close to my heart. That view from when you round the corner on Rt-27 from Kingfield!
  3. It's a fantastic mountain with mediocre lift capacity. It can be brutally cold in W Maine and that gondola was key in late Dec and Jan. There used to be a T-bar running from mid-mountain that was great because nobody used it and it was out of the wind.
  4. FTX was most likely also a "laundromat". The problem is there are legit and useful crypto projects and then a lot of swindle shitcoin projects and platforms.
  5. I haven't skied it yet but my brother says that new Bracket Basin area of Sugarloaf is pretty amazing terrain.
  6. 24/18 at midnight. Pretty much right on for December in NW MA.
  7. 78 is a little bit more of a nod to a classic English pub beer. But yeah, so many of the available packaged stouts are laden with lactose, chocolate, coffee and other adjuncts. A straight Oatmeal Stout or Porter is tough to find these days in the stores. There are still breweries making them but most package stores don't carry them or they are only available on premise at the breweries. It might be time to bring back the beer thread...
  8. Nice example of a British Brown ale. Hop heads rule the roost so not many breweries actually packaging those anymore. Smuttynose Old Brown Dog is also a nice brown ale that’s widely available. Peoples Pint Farmer Brown is similar but a hint richer. Only really available in W MA though.
  9. Meh'. Pattern has lots of storminess and the cold will eventually work out with regards to timing.
  10. A 2-0 deficit in World Cup feels like a 14-0 deficit in NFL playoffs. Not impossible to overcome but not an enviable position to be in.
  11. Same here give or take a tenth. Let’s hope we match up some snow totals with the big swfe front loaders in a few weeks.
  12. Oh’ man, this is funny and spot on. Probably could make an expanded version that stretches down into CT. https://www.bonfire.com/dhtwn-wmass-snow-lovers-2022/?fbclid=IwAR0p2cXILDJMPzxeqMGi-bBwBdZLLpQresiQeX-o93BWz4wLA-oOBgcWT9Q
  13. We have .60” which is a lot more than I expected.
  14. By the end of the week, if ensembles shift even a little bit, we will get the first post saying “the pattern change always ends up being 10 more days away, I knew this would happen”.
  15. I may take the day off to finish winterizing the yard. November snow is nice but the mild month has been great. I’ll be ready for snow right when the models show the potential a few weeks.
  16. Tomorrow looks like the nicest day of the week perhaps?
  17. I think I'll be able to make it for the first few hours.
  18. Lol, Tired Hands Brewing is not in the top 10 on the East Coast. Believe it or not, the elite breweries are the ones that make every style well, not just hazy IPA.
  19. In NW MA April - May and Oct - Nov are brutal for ticks. I've had many bites over the years but thankfully caught all of them early. I feel like it's a when not if for getting a tick born illness. Hope you have a fast recovery!
  20. This could be a new record, it’s only November 23 and this subforum is already
