I find as I get older I care less and less about these long boring stretches. They used to eat away at me; it felt like a personal affront to not get snow, but now I can rationalize it. Now it takes a large bust inside 24 hours to send me over the edge. We had two events in 2018 that sent me into towering paroxysms of rage, but that was the last time.

A Ray melt is a good start, but in my opinion we still need Scott to throw a full on DEFCON 1 thermonuclear smiting before this winter can rise reborn from the ashes.

I blew out my knee on that ice; still haven't fully recovered.

I believe the 1918 flu was still around into the 1960s, albeit in a much less deadly form. Hopefully COVID ends up mutating into something more benign too.

We had one like that in '15 right? Dumped like 20-25" on eastern Mass if I recall. Long duration.

Yeah, no. I got my entire '19-'20 winter in one system in December. Even with a boring month, this is way better.

Normally a solid event, but that's gotta sting when areas to your south were measuring in feet.

Somewhere in the Norfolk/Washington Depot/Sharon area of NW CT for SNE pick. Beautiful countryside, solid average snowfall, easy to get to NYC, Albany, Boston, ADKs, access to cultural offerings and skiing. My northern pick is technically in the Mid-Atlantic: Upper St Regis Lake NY, but I guess Holderness NH would be a solid back up.

I don't recall exactly, but believe it was in the ballpark of 8-9". Super fun event. Very fluffy snow and totally still air.
