  1. Not true. We only Grinch at Christmas. We're on to a new decade for snow threats! Not sure the '20s can match the epicosity this one delivered, but we can hope!
  2. Dryslotted ATM. Good practice for winter.
  3. Cold, rain. Cold, rain. Cold, rain. Sounds like last December-early March. Thankfully it's only November. We can wait.
  4. I thought we were instantly and emphatically tossing every GFS run now.
  5. Having been up in northern NY this weekend flipped me into winter mode. Hours spent stalking grouse (without result) in 6" of pristine snow, near zero temps both mornings and intense snow squalls on the drive up Friday. It was like deep January in SNE. Spectacular.
  6. Yeah he had an EPIC meltdown in that one. As did that guy who moved to Westerly, whatever his name was. I felt for them, I really did. It was brutal.
  7. Wow, did not know that. Probably looked like that static subsidence hole in RI during March '13.
  8. I'm about 10 miles down the road from SLK right now. Got 6" on the ground, had some sweet WINDEX squalls on the way up last night and a low around 0 this morning. deep deep winter up here, Mike. Can't wait to see it in SNE.
  9. Nah, skin will be thicker, expectations tempered, after last year's fiasco. That said, if I have more inches of rain than snow again this year come March, there will be melts.
  10. Bad December? Well, no worries then. That never happens.
  11. Ray, thanks for all your hard work. Your outlook is always one of the highlights of my weather-watching year and I look forward to re-reading this several times to soak up as much as I can.
  12. Gotta be a rough transition going from 90s with dews to 10s with snow in like a month and change.
  13. Hope you're right. Dec '13 was the last good one for me.
  14. Huzzah! A few flakes on the breeze.
  15. So, today's the day we get Ray's seasonal outlook drop, right? Can't. Freakin'. Wait.
  16. I'm heading up to the 'Dacks next weekend. Bring it. Can't wait to see some snow.
  17. We'll be lamenting that we wasted this pattern in Novie when it's a -PNA torch all January. Hell, we'll probably lament all the blocking we get too...when it shows up in May.
  18. Definitely. My only memory of a white Thanksgiving was '89.
  19. How did November 1950 go down? Obviously centered over the Apps, but was that a SPV subsume scenario?
  20. They had 5-6"/hr type snow for a few hours in that death band. Wish I could've been there. As I recall, there were a few towns that reported legit hail in that band, too. Pretty special.
  21. Yep. Not sure exactly how much fell in Hamden (I was in Boston then--it was awesome there, too), but my father reported his yardstick disappeared with several inches to spare. They were stuck in the house for several days before earth movers came through and cleared the roads.
  22. I loved that storm. I was 12 and I remember doing a back flip off my deck into a drift. Still, even '96 can't touch this one:
  23. 2013-14 featured a few systems with temps close to zero in BOS. It was pretty spectacular.
  24. Might be giving Reggie too much credit. Crushed it in '15, then hit the bottle hard in the postseason and never got his mojo back.
