  1. We will see a second wave and third wave and fourth wave Etc. The goal was to flatten the curve. We flattened it. Hospitals are ready. Time to get back at it while maintaining the best social practices that we can. No large scale concerts or sports for awhile still.
  2. I’m right get there with you. The high res NAM has churned our some impressive nocturnal cells. Almost mcs like, but frontal driven. I also agree that elevated convection is super intense sometimes. I think a combination of positive strikes and interesting thermal profiles really amplifies sound. I’ve definitely noticed that they seem louder over the years.
  3. Agree. And that’s why it’s fun to counter stupid trolls with logic that can’t be defeated.
  4. A cool/chilly June means highs around 70 which most people welcome. I’m not worried, we made it......June/July/August are always super nice in upstate. Pretty much no way to **** it up.
  5. The NFL might be able to limp along for awhile on TV advertising, but I just read that 50 percent of stadium ticket sales are used to pay the athletes salaries. Seems like something would have to give to make that work if it went on all season. Additionally, advertising dollars will be in short supply as we enter the depression. A 2020 football season seems to be in jeopardy in my opinion.
  6. Thats all well and good but I don't imagine these players and teams want to volunteer their time and play sports for free. Sports are built on income from ticket sales. Without it, sports cannot function. The entire foundation is gone without the fans and money. Not sure how this would ever really work.
  7. I think these are the kinds of gatherings we need to slowly start doing. People need to start small. We have to gauge how bad things are and at least test the waters on how bad the spread will be as we begin to crawl out of our houses. The hospitals aren’t overrun if there is a spike. Large gatherings like concerts, sports, and packed bars need to wait, as a super spreader could still cause a dangerous outbreak. But otherwise, I think the time has come. It’s inevitable that we will eventually have to start socializing again, we just need to take baby steps. I still haven’t made the plunge myself, but many of my friends have started to socialize within our group again.
  8. No one knew what to expect, I find it hard to blame anyone with this thing. I think erring on the side of caution was the only logical way to respond. A blunder implies there was an obvious better way to handle it, but we overlooked it. Would be nice if hospitals could have fully segregated wards so that electives can continue. Perhaps we will see specialized hospitals set aside for pandemics someday. Moth balled. Too much on the line to roll those dice this time, we just werent ready.
  9. Are you looking for honey or bees? I have tons of honey. Don't have any bees to part with.
  10. Bumblebees are docile but pack a very long stinger and can give a nasty sting. No barb though, so they can sting multiples times. All drones of the bees species are stingless as their stinger was replaced with a penis, no joke.
  11. I actually recall almost no fallout from the spring breakers. Tens of thousands of people were out there, I saw very little evidence of any hot spots related to spring breakers. As I’ve stated many times. There is no safer place than a beach. Parks and beaches should be open.
  12. Oh they sting alright. Only once though and then they die. But oh do they sting. That swarm had 30,000 bees!
  13. My truck is reading 79 right now. Feels glorious! looks like the squall line is already setting up and will miss Rochester as always. As a side note, this first warm day made my honeybees swarm. I was planning to split them tomorrow. Missed it by one day!! Damnit all. I Was able to collect them successfully though.
  14. Kind of interested in the tropical system that comes up the East coast early next week. The GFS keeps toying with the idea of a capture by the low that rolls through the lakes on Monday Tuesday. If these two phased up someone on the East coast, and maybe as far North as us, is going to get some serious rain. The weird weather continues.
  15. I think supplies, experience, PPE, and possibly a treatment will be in stock by Fall. COVID-19 is a reality now. Mankind is going to work exceedingly hard at this problem. There will be more ventilators, masks, hospital beds, etc in this country than in any time before. We will learn to coexist and deal with this bastard, it just takes some time. It's only been a few months...
  16. Every single summer festival has been canceled in Rochester through September and we are doing better than buffalo. I’m shocked they haven’t canceled all those things already.
  17. Don't look at the consumer to jump start the economy this summer. Just like in 2008, when the future is murky, we hoard cash, pay off bills, and stop discretionary spending. Going to be a long time until we crawl out of this hole. The good news is that there is going to be a whole ton of cash bottled up in the system that will eventually come out as the depression wanes. In the meantime, hold on to your butts. I'm saving cash like crazy. My job is not safe beyond 18 months. https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/12/investing/jobs-coronavirus-consumer-spending-debt/index.html
  18. I forgot to turn off and secure some outdoor water hoses and had a few blowouts last night ..so stupid of me That’s time and money I didn’t want to spend digging and fixing shit. Worst may ever
  19. 3 days in a row of snow. Definitely a record for my life time. Just amazing brutal stuff. I. Am. So. Tired. Of. Being. COLD!
  20. Yeah, I don't like getting personal either. This forum has been an amazing place to discuss weather over the years and we all bring our own knowledge and flavor. It would definitely be a lot less fun and more lonely tracking storms without all of you.
  21. I was definitely wrong about the cost. Still thought it was a little narcissistic to have his name on there. We paid for those checks, thats the taxpayers money.
  22. Glad to see we agree on the tweets. He tweeted 125 times yesterday. Or once every 7 minutes for 16 hours straight.
  23. Trump supporters seem to enjoy trolling the Left. They will defend him even when every bone in their body knows the thing he said was completely ****ed up or stupid. It's exhausting. Why can't they just say, "Boy that was stupid once in awhile". You can still like him, but the 100% all encompassing defense is phony and played out at this point.
  24. I called you a good Shill. Thats just a factual statement. Not an insult.
  25. I'm a fan of socialism. I think universal income is absolutely inevitable. Bailouts are fine are when the alternative is the economic collapse. I just find it amazing that Trump Supporters are notoriously anti socialism but certainly have their hands out there right now. Amazing how that works. Side Note - Obamas bailout is Bushs. We all know that. We all know the meltdown happened in Fall 08' and was built on the previous 10 years of bad banking.
