  1. Yeah, those horizontal funnels are reminiscent of some very volatile/active days... seem to occur when the energy in the atmosphere is ample for rotation.
  2. In fairness to the NWS, this is not your usual synoptic setup with the bomb cyclone moving through. Definitely a lot of factors went into the ingredients today to giving those cells the ability to rotate.
  3. Day 1 ENH risk updated. Small corridor centralized on the Eastern border of Arkansas.
  4. Thanks. Could you link/attach some of the new soundings? I haven't seen the veer back, but I haven't really had the time to take a look at them.
  5. Day 3 still slight risk. Somewhat surprised given the moisture content and returns on the hodographs. I guess Day3 MDTs are pretty rare, but this seems to be a good synoptic setup. Am betting on a Day2 MDT. Anyone think this could go HGH day of?
  6. As there were no confirmed EF-4 Tornadoes in the United States in the calendar year of 2018, this marks the strongest tornado to touch down anywhere in the United States since the Canton Texas tornado of April 29th, 2017. Pretty remarkable for an ENH risk day with a lot of factors working against it -- I know a lot of weather friends of mine weren't even really watching the day until it was obvious that something big was happening. Sad that it hit so suddenly and in an area where it caused so many deaths.
  7. Showing stronger velocities in the last few frames as well.
  8. Of course Jeff is on these storms. :lol
  9. Are spotters out on these? I see Michael phelps on the Dothan storm but he is not broadcasting unfortunately. Lot of firing east of the boundary now.
  10. Enhanced has grown significantly since the first issuance. Now covers large portions of Alabama and Georgia. Could be an active day.
