  1. I truly am happy for the NC folks but this has been one of the most painful winters for snow ever in SC! On the edge of two big events squeezed out a couple inches each for the upstate but the only real snow in SC this year hit the coast. Everything else has been just above the state line and NC just keeps getting it, with even NEGA having done way better. Even though I expect the short end here in the upstate, this has been a hard one to take. Everything has overperformed... for everyone else. Watching NC this winter makes me feel like I'm back in high school, watching all the other guys get all the dates...
  2. Aaaaand back to zilch for SC, as I expected. Carbon copy of last week minus TN and KY. Good winter for NC continues, bad for SC continues.
  3. This and the above CMC are the first maps I've seen that show any snow for the upstate since Jan. The models actually did very well with snow placement last week with almost all of NC getting some but it never getting into SC, they nailed that. Most of them showing a similar scenario this time with SC getting missed again, but these two show little. Would be neat to see but it won't happen.
  4. That would be a nice late season gift for many. But, man, can it get any closer to the upstate without actually hitting it? Unfortunately, this seems to be the new climo!
  5. But you're below 2k, so that's a strike against you! You have a better shot than me for sure, but still very unlikely at this stage; IMO, for whatever that's worth.
  6. South of I-40 and below 2k ft I'd put money on it... probably a lot.
  7. GSP to CLT to CAE triangle really got the shaft this year. Just about everybody else got their average or way above (CHS, coastal areas, even gulf coast). CAE is really in a drought and I feel for those guys. By the time they get their next shot it will be going on 5 years since their last measurable snowfall. The upstate has really gotten the short end though last few years as well.
  8. Just becoming too hard to get snow in the upstate, let alone in March. Is there even a single model run showing any blue at all into the upstate? On every map I've seen the SC border snow wall is in full force. Heck, it's already happened this week, snow showers all the way to the border on Wed, then nothing.
  9. Yeah that was my point for the western upstate/ nega areas. Points east will have a much better shot. Spartanburg received a couple inches, I never even got a dusting. Looks like a pretty good potential for some, Robert likes TN, NC, VA, WV, KY mountains. Unless it digs way south and wraps colder in faster its nothing for me though.
  10. Any possible wintry weather would be east and North of GSP. The above kinda shows that tendency. Cold would be too late for western upstate. Looks like a bona fide shot WNC and North and East of CLT.
  11. Total vent here but this weather has put me in a rather foul mood. Cleaning out the garage today and having to put up with sweatiness, bugs, pollen, humidity, and seeing everything thing come out and grow and thinking about all the yard work is just grotesque. If it was May or even April I could accept it but this is beyond ridiculous. Then seeing all my neighbors cutting grass, doing yard work, and walking their dogs in shorts whilst talking about how much they like is just insult to injury. THIS IS MISERABLE! I can't believe this has happened two Februarys in a row. Man, people west of the Mississippi are so freaking lucky.
  12. I'm a doubter too. All I know is the upstate is supposed to average +20 over the next 8 days and never go below 50. That is plain awful. Even if we get into a little better pattern it may be too late. A handful below normal for March is a no go for wintry weather.
  13. GSP calling for mid 70s Thursday and Friday with a low of 60 sandwiched in between! That's a page from last February. Then we get back almost to normal for another rainy weekend before going back to upper 60s again. Winter in this area is soooo stinkin pathetic!
  14. I'm out too man. I usually wait to see how things look first few days of March but we're close to mid Feb and my low for next 15 days is showing 38. Could be wrong of course and there could be a 10 day window after that for something but I have no confidence there, sounds like a fairy tale. This is a lot like 2010-2011 with winter ending after mid Jan for MBY. Only difference is I had more snow that year.
  15. Are you on the coast? Sounds like you don't care for cold/ snow? I would refer to a once in 25 year snow as AWESOME, not as "the worst."
  16. Good one Powerball!! Wish we could get an "extremely cold snowy January". Not to mention its already been spring for a week at least.
  17. Forecast for upstate becoming even more springlike. Highs pushing 70 several days and lows in 50s several nights with inches of unneeded (and unwelcome to me) rain. Could this be a record breaking Feb? Even Robert has no words of comfort!
  18. The next week looks like absolute poop for the upstate. After tonight, the low through next Thursday is 48! Highs mostly in the 60s and I still have to build my ark. I HATE THIS FOR EARLY FEBRUARY! That's all I have to say about that.
  19. Depending on where people are I would expect to see wildly different grades for this winter. I agree, Def a "C" for me. No real lengthy torches, one good cold spell and general coolness otherwise, 2 small snow events, but not even equal to my seasonal average. If we get no more winter from here out I'll probably go with a C - for MBY.
  20. Yeah, pretty crappy. Good news is it's the warmest model of the suite. Bad news is it's not by much. TWC, which basically uses the GFS run for automated forecast doesn't show GSP below freezing for next 15 days. Hopefully GFS is out to lunch as usual, would be a shame to waste the heart of Feb on spring, but it seems to happen more years than not.
  21. Of course, and no cold in sight. This area is absolutely maddening for a winter weather lover!!! I'm still hopeful we can work something out last week of Feb, first week of Mar.
  22. Ditto, the maps so far are all showing that. Cold Midwest and south central, snow apps and west. I too am hoping for an eastward progression, GSP -AUG -CAE still needs a solid snow before the end!
