Dissenting views, and lying are two entirely different things.
you allow yourself to get overly sensitive when people have the opinion that winter will not be cold and snowy..

Lol…stop what? Folks lying? Ya got folks flat out lying, and when we ask them to stop, you ask us to stop. Now that’s ridiculous.

It’s a different vibe/look altogether, in just about every aspect. That’s why these trolls who are pushing the same old narrative, need to be taken down, and banned for a while. Because what they are saying is downright ingenuous now. And it should not be tolerated.
...please stop lol....

Took advantage of the all out furnace yesterday, and put up all the Xmas lights . First time ever in shorts. There were so many bugs. In the hollybush there was thousands of these little tiny gnats., saw several crickets just sitting on the siding on the house, there were a ton of those big flys buzzing around. The freezes really just don’t kill anymore . Everything has adapted
You need to give these guys a call!!...

I was on board with a historic super nino too, but the data doesn’t support that anymore. The ONI graph in particular is misleading, as the 2023 El Niño event began diverging from the super events after September. 82-83, 97-98, and 15-16 all were above 2.0 by now. Right now it’s evolving more like a slightly stronger version of 57-58 than the super events. Don’t get me wrong, this nino is far from weak. It’s looking more like a +1.8-1.9 peak than a +2.3 or higher though.
a lot of people are setting themselves to be disappointed once again.....

What planet are you living on ?

Besides that you're wrong: 2013-14, 2014-15, 2017-18, 2020-21 were good in eastern half in many places.
I'm not trying to throw mud in the mix but his expectations year in & out are a rinse & repeat regardless of the factors.
..point out when and where he has been wrong...

Says the guy who only needed a light jacket when it was -12 in Feb.
....oh that Friday night I did wear a winter coat , ...but in general I do not feel the cold all that easily. I easily could live in a much colder climate.

No frost here in Methuen....and that means there will not be a single frost this month. ...and another fall "heatwave" incoming.
Have not had to turn the heat on the entire month...first time in 30 years of owning the home.

After record late October heat it cools off for a few days only for another ridge to form based on ensembles.
.....correct!.....where have we seen that pattern before???

The strength of the El Niño matters a lot. I don’t agree that it is just bad luck that 2009-2010 sucked for snow in New England. Strong/super nino and strong -NAO is a congrats DC pattern, I would take a 2018-2019 repeat over that any day.
The potential strength of El Nino can certainly trainwreck the entire winter of 23-24. Anyone who says otherwise is doing the weather equivalent of" whistling pass the graveyard"

Might be a little harsh .. I mean, I'd prefer to actually hear and have time to process Schilling's reasoning for divulging the information before a Hannibal Lectorian distinction haha .

My anxiety is through the roof. Gonna be away for the weekend and don't want to come home to a wet basement. Even though we had french drains put in back in May, I'm still nervous about water finding it's way in through other small cracks in the foundation.
You may want to consider purchasing these. They work very well! they come in different sizes. And they can be reused. Relatively inexpensive

Amazon also sells them.

I think these are fair points. For example, what about those who keep talking about the 101 F buoy water temp (barely off S FL) as a legit “SST” when it really isn’t? Or immediately blaming AGW as the primary cause of the Maui fires as a knee-jerk reaction without strong evidence to support that?
..it is everywhere...

Wow I didn’t realize that Decembers have been that warm in recent times. I yearn for the days growing up when most years followed certain guidelines. Turning colder towards Thanksgiving with some flakes in the air, followed by bouts of cold and snowy conditions up until mid January when the 7-10 thaw would kick in. Finally the snow and cold bouts would come roaring back till the end of February/early March. Those winters around here are a distant memory.
Here in NE Massachusetts that was more like October. I've certainly noticed a change over the years similar to what you have noticed.

My guess is that it’s somehow related to the timing of these frequent December MJO 4-6 intervals which have been increasing in duration and intensity in recent years. But we would probably need a formal study which hasn’t been done yet.
The issue with a study is we can only go back so far in time because of the lack of reliable records. At some point the available data runs out so to speak. The available meteorological records we have are a tiny particle of dust in the grand scheme of things.

Yep. My first inclination is to carefully assess the objectivity or accuracy of anything intertwined with politics regardless of the party, side, etc, before accepting as factual.
Many of the deniers do not have a political agenda. They have a anti government agenda regardless of which party is in "control" Some deniers have an anti science agenda. Others believe it is part of a conspiracy to force people to purchase expensive electric vehicles. I once had someone tell me that global warming was being manipulated to help solar panel companies increase sales.

Yea, I agree on that. Brutal. A lot of those people probably have political agendas.
