  1. ...Not terribly windy last night, but Eversource was prepared by setting up the portable generator that would be used to get our neighborhood running if the power went out.

My main route to work was closed due to a particular spot along the Mashamoquet Brook in Pomfret that frequently washes over route 101.  If the road does not close, the area sometimes becomes a spot for people to stop and take photos of the house that becomes surrounded by water.  During very heavy events the dude sand bags himself in. (see photo below)

Driving to work there were multiple spots along route 6 where it was apparent that water washed over the road over night.

  2. Temps must be dropping...That 1.25" of heavy, water logged snow is turning into a nasty sheet of ice.  I just went and cleared windshields and sh.it is starting to freeze solid.  Nasty.

Eversource dropped off a large portable generator to power our neighborhood again in anticipation of heavy lines today and the wind follow up this week.

Damage is coming here, but not in the form of heavy snow.

if anyone has any totals from Round 1 only in CT i can make a quick map to show we got so far.

I am going to guess and say 1.5 prior to the change to rain early this a.m.  board still read 1.25 after that change over so 1.5 probably isn't far fetched...all snow right now.

not that I recall that would be an awesome thing to see though... this looks like it's going to harken back to the tuck rule game

In telling tales of yore, the Pats won that game on an OT kick in a wicked blizzard, if I remember correctly, we had a 2–4-inch light snow event. Will would remember.

Such a localized event it seemed. I was living in Stoughton during that game, about 12-15 miles from the stadium.  The storm was small and nice.  Just a nice snowy night. When the game ended, I think the snow ended shortly after.

There are so many factors but part of it is just bad brakes too.  Who knows, any year you could move into us know what your cycle for your location.  I don’t know as much about Connecticut and Rhode Island but from Massachusetts through NNE, I bet I could named 30 different towns that are supposed snow holes.  Your house is not an anomaly.

I just had my brakes (and rotors) replaced last week.

Yikes. Level that forest lol. Good luck (seriously)

    Thanks. Same to you.

Been a snow lover all my life, but with the new location, and just the overall way things have gone over the past year+, I just don't care.  ...Looking ahead to multiple rainers after a few inches doesn't do it for me.

I hope others cash in. It's been brutal so far.

Your back is broken. You need snow. If you get 2-4 everybody else is screwed.

No.  My spot specifically just doesn't get snow.  I moved there 2 years ago, and everyone around me gets more snow.  I suppose due to the lake, or the 100foot pine trees that surround me. Either way it's not a place for snow.

Someone who wanted to get in the picture lol. There were some work parties there.

She took the first group shot of us, then jumped in while her colleague took the other.  We did the same for them (minus the photobombing)
