As underwhelming as this was...and not by much, just under 4" on a 4-8FX expectation. It's still a welcome and pleasant surprise given the pretty intense cold thats coming to keep all the snow around coupled with the fact this looked like a nothing burger-whiff 4 or 5 days ago.

If anyone has an final totals for the event anywhere let me know. ill be doing maps for the tri-state area, CT and SNE, thanks.

3" in Dayville...9" for the season.

Only 21" of snow that season. Do you just let the molasses take you at that point?

At this point, might as well.  Browsing through the mid Atlantic pages and see most down there have already beaten my 6" so far.

Bring on the slow molasses death.

I mean, seeing the deep south get buried and frozen, would be kind of awesome.

Oh yea Ray will go wild and blog about it.

    Right.
I've already seen it in disaster movies.  I don't need it in real life.

Low of 4F here in E CT; nice 2 day stretch to help freezing lakes and ponds

Except my lake.  Nice and cold for a a few days, but the constant wind, and waves in the water have prevented any widespread freezing.  Only in the shallow, and sheltered cove areas.  ...But this is the same routine most years.  The perpetual, never ending, bone chilling breeze that exists here prevents the freezing most of the time.  There really needs to be a few periods of still water combined with the freeze for it to happen

This drone s*** is getting out of hand. Should I walk towards the light?

Drone freak-outs don't give humanity much hope in accepting the flying car that most of us have grown up seeing as the future on the cover of Popular Mechanics magazine in the 1980's/ 90's, and even back into the 50's.

Imagine a world like depicted in movies, Back To The Future 2, or The 5th Element?  People will lose their minds on a daily basis.

Where the heck do you live Ray?  You live but 50 minutes from me, and I’ve seen 31” of Snow Total, in 2 FULL SEASONS.

    I haven’t seen Even a 10” snowstorm since January 2022!!  Almost 3 Years!

If I don’t see an ACTUAL full on 20” Storm this year I’m going to Absolutely go F-ing Ape S***.  And of course like every year, I’ll be in LA January 19-February 4th for NAMM & Grammys.  So you might as well book a storm somewhere inside of that time frame.

I don’t think pure dooming is any better fwiw. There’s legit disagreement around the week of Xmas.

When I look at that map that Luke posted, I see much orange and red, translating into 1-4 degrees above normal? ...But it's not like we're seeing the doomish high or even middle end of the scale. I'm sure that I'm over simplifying the imagery from 300+ hours out, but it doesn't seem panic worthy.
