  1. One other thing to try is google your model (maybe engine model) to see if it has idle mix adjustment screw. I doubt it would be the cause of the problem, but you might be able to get a temp fix by adjusting it out to enrich the air-fuel mixture.
  2. Well, you should make sure the vent in the cap is clean anyway (spray with some carb cleaner) but it still sounds like a blocked carb. The gas cap being off is probably just helping in the sense that it's doing the opposite of creating a vacuum, whatever that's referred to as...increasing gasoline flow similar to the way the carb on a pipe works with air, if that's something you are familiar with. But if it is still stalling under full load, that's just a band aid.
  3. Indeed I have. Sim radar, for the models that have it, will always show a more accurate "in time" look at the storm's forecasted existence. Average precip rate is always lagging the actual storm evolution. HRRR seems to also have an explicit snow forecast, at least based on the (?) info screen on pivotalweather. Although it seems boilerplate so probably worth confirming. And also very possible that not all model sites use it for their graphics.
  4. Specifically, you're a wanker. ftw, friend...ftw. They enjoy it more than we do.
  5. There's only so much that could be going wrong, and 90% of the time it's a clogged carb. I suggested removing the gas cap as a way of eliminating the possibility that his gas cap air vent is clogged and is creating a vacuum that isn't allowing fuel to flow freely - it's a very easy test to do to eliminate a possible cause. But if he filled up his tank before trying it today, it probably would have started and ran for a bit before shutting off. And I assume if his fuel line was cracked open, he'd have noticed the gasoline on the floor.
  6. Yeah, I'm surprisingly lazy and just want a clown map to trust lmao. But a saturated column and lift within the dendrite growth zone are ones I can usually manage - especially when they are labeled for me like with TTs soundings lmao.
  7. Does it run with the gas tank cap off?
  8. Having TT add 700 and 850 fronto maps has been fantastic. I'm sure there is more to it than looking for the fronto, but just doing that has been working out decently for me.
  9. Well it's obviously a fuel to air ratio problem, which is why priming it helps keep it running for a bit and also why it runs on choke. The choke increases the fuel to air ratio. It's also fine to use it just running on the choke if that's what you need to do, until you figure out the problem. I'd start with some carb cleaner though.
  10. Did you use fuel stabilizer in your gas last year?
  11. Even a single stage would be much easier if it has a paddle that makes contact with the ground and pulls it along.
  12. well, looks like the NAM is useful from 6 hours out.
  13. I agree with that statement. Many of them don't even have a snow algo built in.
  14. radar loop if anyone's interested https://imgur.com/a/WhYsGxq
  15. He will when it's time. Let the man work his magic. It does look wintery as f*** though.
  16. Well I'd hope you aren't getting hammered at work
  17. yeah, probably just had ever so slightly higher ratios.
  18. yeah, the other columbia measurements must be under trees or something. I did my board and then like 4 random spots out in the open in my yard.
  19. pretty darn close, just a wee bit NE of reality
