WWA here for freezing rain. Currently overcast and 30F. Forecast high for tomorrow was 52F and now it's 43F. Looks like another cold rainstorm.

Microclimate here too in the valley. It likes to freezing rain here and keep some pack around.

Last year was 39.4". I'm nearly at half that already.

When I lived in Coventry at 825', I remember snowcover lasting for like 3-5 weeks at a time. Not from early December into March. More like January and February. And like you said a thaw would rapidly melt it. This area is more protected.

I'm 48, and some of 80's and late 90's winters were awful. For folks that ski, the late 90's winters nearly put ASC out of business.

I'd like to see a tornado from a safe distance. Preferably in the Plains away from any house's or infastructure.

People in parts of Quebec went up to one month without power. That's tough in January. I was at Sugarloaf and thankfully we didn't lose power as it was between 17-25F outside.

Yeah, I was slightly uncomfortable with no power after the October 2011 snowstorm. I can't imagine having no heat in Montreal in January. It was very cold following the ice storm. The power grid in Quebec was devestated. My brother's house was electrically heated with no fireplace.

My brother really enjoyed having his house at 35F in Montreal in 1998 and no power for a week. He can hardly wait for the next crippling ice storm.
