  1. It's my dad's birthday tomorrow, first one with him gone. Going to visit his grave tomorrow with my son. Haven't been there since the funeral. Trying really hard to keep my chin up.
  2. I went skiing with a friend at Mohawk Mountain after the storm ended. I remember snow banks higher than my car along Route 8 north of Waterbury. Knee deep powder on the slopes of Mohawk, but tough going.
  3. Front is through, wow what alot of rain. Looks like about 0.50" in 10 minutes. Temperature down to 54F.
  4. Front passing through here with very heavy rain and wind. No thunder.
  5. 60F here with the front about to pass through. Windy, but nothing very strong.
  6. 43F here now and really foggy. Overall a cold rainy nasty day.
  7. 40F here with dense fog. Look like a brief warm up into the 50's is upcoming.
  8. I went sledding in January of 1998 because Sugarloaf was closed due to the ice storm. The rental lady was so concerned for my safety, she gave me her satellite phone. A huge brick of a phone. I went to Bigelow Lodge, ducking under ice laden trees.
  9. No pack, but my neighbors yard has snow along the driveway from where they shoveled the snow. Still at 38F, torch phail.
  10. I'd be happy to have the amount of snow we had earlier this week on December 23rd.
  11. Temperature stuck here at 37F, my deck still has a bit of snow on it.
  12. 37F here and the rain is over for now. Still have a few patches of snow.
  13. Light rain here and 34F. My deck and parts of my yard still have some snowcover.
  14. I'm not worried, snow and cold weather will show up in April.
  15. My brother invited me up to ski with him in January of 1994. The things I remember about that cold outbreak was single digit cold at home, a frozen Long Island Sound and painful cold skiing at Smugglers Notch. This was when I lived in Queens., New York.
  16. I was up there skiing for my son's birthday. I have to say he was a real trooper and didn't complain about the cold, maybe 50 people were out on the mountain that day. Timberline trail near the summit at -30F. Taking this picture with a camera was not fun.
  17. Car thermometer in January of 2009 in Stratton, Maine. I was skiing with my son at Sugarloaf. -30F at the summit. Skiing with any kind of speed was painful. The coldest skiing I've ever done is also at Sugarloaf. December of 1989 was -37F at the base.
  18. 2.5" overnight and the total for the season so far.
  19. 2.5" here and more than I thought would be the total. Snowed here until 1:30am. Odd here the town isn't doing anything for the roads. Started out as graupel for about 1 hour.
