I woke up early to try to catch the eclipse but unfortunately it was too cloudy here to get a good look.

when it was about 5:20 the sun was rising i could see the reflection of sun off some buildings in nyc after that the sky got cloudier. it always seem to be cloudy in the nyc area when some eclipse is happening it is never clear.

That's just hysterical. No way they were under 90 when even here it made it to 90 and even over in some places.

a lot of rain in central park lately prevented 90 degree heat today.

Early June temperature departure pattern following where the wettest and driest conditions have been during the spring. Warmest departures over the dry Northern Tier which has been experiencing drought. Cooler temperature anomalies to the south with the record rains in Texas.

It doesn't take all that long to dry out the ground anyway.  I dont think 100 is possible here in June anyway because it hasn't happened in my lifetime, however the heat of next week should dry out the ground nicely, thereby setting the stage for 100 degrees in July.  It's like a cold airmass that comes in before a snowstorm, dropping the temperature of the ground and priming it for a big snowstorm that will start to stick right away.

last time it hit 100 in june in nyc was in 1966
