  1. The thing 2/8 has going for it why 2/1 didn’t is it’s a compact nuke in a cold environment. Should get much better results during any snow periods near the coast.
  2. For you. I’m not exactly up and in and I haven’t been above freezing since returning from Chicago and I think I represent Boston metro outside of the city. Heck even BOS barely got above freezing for a few hours yesterday. It’s active, much colder over the past 10 days and likely going forward and in any metric the pattern has changed.
  3. You could actually argue it started with the rainstorm in 1/16...set the ball in motion. I get Bob’s perspective but we left 1/15 with bare ground and have seen snow otg from the time we arrived in Chicago on 1/16 to now with a strong pack.
  4. What? A week ago every day was 38-28 and dry. Now we’re dynamic and fun.
  5. One thing is clear...this winter turned on a dime over the past week.
  6. The last time I was in the jackpot 5 days out was 5 days ago...just sayin...
  7. Even though I got warning snow and the pack is pretty good, the high water content lower ratio snow blows. Backbreaking to move, and less visually pleasing than fluff. Weenie flakes for the past 90 minutes since I’ve been up. Will need to do one more cleanup during the day while I have light. Deep pack now and no obliteration in site.
  8. Look at that valentine near Ayer! Paging Typhoon Tip!
  9. Longitude. I don’t think it’s proximity to the coast as much as proximity t the warmer lowers and mids. I measured 9 inches but 5 miles west got 14+. Conversely 5 mikes East...indeed 3 miles east got slop. This is wet snow...snow blew twice and the shoveling just now of the 2 inches since 11:30 pm was backbreaking. NAM did well. Forget snow maps..they aren’t produced by the model. However their progs for bl were pretty good.
  10. Lol....I know the feeling! You always want relatives to understand how snowy it gets here!
  11. Winter wonderland just a few miles from you. I’ve snowblown twice already. Stayed below freezing-barely and that was the difference. I’ll measure soon but I’m pretty sure I’ll exceed 8.
  12. Great job with the near melt...it worked!
  13. 2nd round for me but I promised neighbors in both sides and it’s a lot wetter snow here. Ripping beautifully! 7.5 and counting.
  14. Rainers are back to snow obs. Snowing lighter here in between bands and hopefully the next band from the south gets here soon.
  15. I may end up with 8-12 or more. Up to 5.5 now with moderate snow and heavies heading in.
  16. We got a delivery today...maybe you?
  17. 4.5 here. Did my first snowblower pass. Glad I’m tackling smaller amounts but I should have bought one that doesn’t require my effort to move it...lol.
  18. Going by RadarScope, my longitude is roughly the same as Woburn to Canton.
  19. Longitude is big in this event so far. 93 in Boston seems to be the r/s line?
  20. Just got out of the shower. Still ripping and piling. Temperature inching up-31 now.
  21. Milton? Crazy! So far we’re still ripping in chestnut Hill but that’s getting too close for comfort! 30 degrees
  22. Measured 1.5...ripping and piling...making up for lost time. 30 degrees
