  1. Interesting that when ever we get above average snow in Dec. we never get shut out the rest of the season.
  2. If I didn't know better I'd say this is a euphemism for dry-slotting.
  3. I think Huff's Church and Mertztown stand a good shot. Morgantown and French Creek SP too.
  4. Flurries started at 5:45PM in Boyertown as I was driving back home from my first shift this season instructing at Bear Creek Ski resort.
  5. I think there is cold air around- something I saw a day or two ago showed the polar vortex as very fragmentary air mass right now. It makes me wonder if there is more cold air aloft than the models (especially the Mezos are accounting for). I was also impressed with the snow we got on Sunday despite the warm ground level temperatures.
  6. Lol. My forecast is a "wet dusting". I must say social media is over run with a plethora of "weather authority" vendors these days- and most of them are posting absolute slop these days. Any body with a computer and a map is pushing out snow maps today! I'm sure AI isnt helping with that either.
  7. I concur- we are in weather purgatory right now.
  8. Thats okay- by that point we'll need the rain.
  9. Nobody start the threads until its over the Carolinas.
  10. Beings I'm a ski instructor my tracking habits shift northward. Vermont can be very nice in Late March plus the extra daylight!
  11. Interesting that the Mertztown and Huff's Church totals are so low when New Hanover, Alburtis and Fleetwood totals are high. Also Emmaus- two different measurements.
  12. Better safe than sorry? Higher totals seemed to hold serve in the NW interior. Perhaps it seemed to necessary to hedge bets with Philly due to risk? These frontal systems must be the ones that make you guys nuts!
  13. The Canadian always seems to do okay when there's been a lot of cold air around. Nam has been scoring well and tends to model frontogenesis well. How does cold air damming work into the mix?
  14. red fire retardant... that explains everything!
  15. Well isn't that just great for New Jersey! ....Didn't know that, thanks for the info.
  16. Except there's no such thing as a snow day- rather the kids have to telecommute for their flexible instruction day like mini-adults on their laptops! Communicable illness and the fact their is more fast moving traffic on the roads today also weighs more heavily on the decision making these days.
  17. Fat flakes in Caln Twp. here at work. Peaceful snow but the roads were pretty bad even with just 1/4" this morning.
  18. I guess this was probably caused by the inversion layer last night. Some reading that I did said thunder can reflect off the warm layer.
  19. Some very loud and powerful thunder just rolled through here about 10 minutes ago. It's been a long time since I've been frightened by thunder like that probably some of the loudest I've ever heard.
  20. No No No please don't do this! My company sold the material that made SoFi stadiums roof!
  21. This body of water empties into the Perkiomen which in turn empties into the Schuylkill.
  22. Trace of Fog today... Skies were slightly gray yesterday afternoon.
