    So after all the research and deliberation, I have decided to mount my instrument station at 2 meters (which is recommended for agricultural applications) 10 meters is the true professional meteorological application recommendation, but since my overall goal is to use this in conjunction with a future home orchard (white nectarines and pawpaw) that i'm planning, I think this will be the best solution. I'm planning on getting weatherlinkip to automatically upload my data

    I always like a good onion snow too! I like the blockbusters any winter we have a miller A in is a winner for me. I am always impressed by ice storms but they are so destructive I never wish for them.

    I'll have you know that there were three school years where we didn't have any snow days at all. ...Penn State Berks once had a 30" blizzard a few years ago... and school was back in session the next day! What a ripoff!!

    Hopefully, we can get the ski slopes open and make some money!!! Also, I must have been an extra good boy this year because Santa brought me a Davis Vantage Vue weather station (more to come)!!!

    Should be a close call with breaking the annual precip record. Also bear creek opens today! They drained our snowmaking pond so they could fill it back up this weekend which is perfect! Driver at work said it was snowing like crazy and sideways just NE of Scranton where about 1.5" had fallen. Flurries here at work in Green Lane around 10:00 am

    Its probably unlikely that we will see this record hold serve, as it would require the next seasons to be 45" or over. In fact the true probability is likely less than 35% (although to calculate it, I would need the raw data set.) The weenie in me say lets give it the olde college try though.

    Yeah a high ratio clipper is better than a glancing coastal imo. Easier to forecast too.

    Looks like I took a wrong turn into the NYC forum... One bust on a threat that was never ours to begin December with and we are at each other's throats?... surprising, what's not surprising is our pattern woes... and how much I saved on car insurance!
