Petunias are basically the only flower with the Geraniums that are growing here. They must be hardy. And the cold has not yet killed the yellowjackets as they fly in your face. And the ladybug (Asian beetle) are hanging and swarming around the house on these warm days, The frost and freezing temps. put and end to everything else.

I won't complain. I'll take the warmth. Maybe someone should go get Voyager so he can bask in the warmth. I'm sure we'll pay for this warm spell. It won't be long till the winds will be blowing out of the northwest @ 15-25 mph with gusts to 40 and temps in the 20s-30s. Not looking forward to that wind!

Big differences indeed. I pay the price in the cooler seasons where I live S far as temperatures. But in the summer months I relish them temperatures here. I have our own microclimate here, one that I cherish in the summer months, but not in the colder months. A lot of the leaves are dropping like flies after the sun started shining on them here.

A cold 26 this morning with fog and frost. I guess it probably killed the rest of the annual flowers. This is the coldest so far this season.

54 this morning. The fall foliage was the best I ever seen this year in my area. A lot of other people have said the same thing. I think we had the just right conditions. Like some rain (no heavy rain) those fall temp swings, no wind that allowed the leaves to change and stay on the trees for an extended time. It was the most spectacular display I ever witnessed.
