This is from DT: for NC VA WVA MD DEL PA OH KY IND NJ the Risk of any sort of **SIGNIFICANT Winter Weather*** is done. Yes I know some in VA NC MD did not see real winter / snow.
Now the key phrase is **SIGNIFICANT Winter Weather**. Yes of course between now and say APRIL 1 it will get cold from time to time. Like Duh.....
When I say "SIGNIFICANT Winter Weather" that term refers to SNOW and or ICE chances. If the mountains of WVA or western PA see a snow shower... that really does not count. Also notice here I left out the Great Lakes and New England regions from this. I see no real threat for those areas through March 20 but it is too soon to call it for those areas
When I was younger in my late teens early 20s we looked forward to snow. Especially deep snows and drifting. We would go out and conquer the drifts with cars from the 60s and 70s that were rear wheel drive. We never got stuck or in an accident. I agree society has gotten soft. But also now if you get in an accident the first thing people wanna do is sue.
Back in the early 80s a storm started as snow we might have got a half inch of snow. It turned to sleet, and it was supposed to turn to rain, but never did. We ended up with over 6 inches of sleet. Not fun to shovel.
Yes, hopefully were not nickeled and dimed to death the rest of February. Lets get a big storm or two and hopefully we can get to spring in March sometime.
