  1. Up to 3f here. Seems like a good day to check out Brandon gap trails.
  2. Left the Bronx at 5 with wet roads and 32f. The sprain was wet throughout. The taconic started to get snow on the shoulders and on the roadway by the croton reservoir bridge. 29f when I got off the highway. The secondary roads had some snow on the sides while the tertiary roadways were covered mostly.
  3. I don’t doubt that they get light dry powder, just not as often as the interior mountains. I’d love to ski there, don’t get me wrong, but if I’m looking to maximize my chances of skiing fresh dry powder, I think the numbers favor lcc, Jackson hole, Montana and interior bc.
  4. I've never skied tahoe but the storms they get are amazing. Don't know that I'd want to ski heavy wet snow and they usually come with high winds too. I like my powder light and dry.
  5. It was cold out there today. Even broke out the hand warmers which is a rarity for me. Currently 8f.
  6. I’m running the wrg4’s on the wife’s suv and the rotiva all terrain on my pickup. Very satisfied with both. The traction on them is exceptional. No complaints of road noise. I don’t think they make wrg4 in the truck sizes.
  7. Oh no u didn’t? Going through that very thing at the moment. I’m all happy for her new found healthfulness, really I am, I could just do without the lectures concerning my own meat consumption.
  8. Some years ago, jspin turned me on to all weather tires by Nokian. Great in the snow and u can ride them year round. I have a set of nokian at’s on my ranger pickup but I don’t need a dedicated winter tire being mostly in ny metro.
  9. My daughter flirted with snowboarding when she was maybe 11-12 but went back to skis.
  10. Ha ha. You might want to invest in a helmet for walking on your driveway. It’s all about the tires though even with 4 wheel drive truck.
  11. Tires? everything skiing great with constant resurfacing. Quite windy this morning. Thankfully there are trees to block the wind.
  12. What day. Had about 4” at the house when I left this morning. It was dumping at Lincoln peak especially from 10:30 till noon. Then it picked up again around 3. Everything skiing great.
  13. That’s an understatement. And to think, at this time last week, the models tried to rain on the parade.
  14. Putting aside, entitlement, it’s just plain stupid. Drives me nuts when I hear wind hold complaints. Do they think the resort management wants to close a lift unnecessarily? Why would they? There isn’t any upside to it for the resort, they’re still paying the lift operators. meanwhile, I almost don’t want to say it out loud, but conditions are fantastic and forecast is promising. No whammies.
  15. I don’t think the SB number was updated from this morning. My son measured 5” this morning at 1500’ and said there was at least a foot above 2500’
  16. .8” here. 41/40. The worst of both worlds.
  17. I'll ride the gfs which currently has me at about 4" for saturday and another couple for monday.
  18. If you want to make yourself feel better, take a look at the '06-'07 season. Brutal torch december into january, modest improvement in the latter parts of january early february, then the vday bonanza followed by st. pattys day and easter dumps.
  19. 'nothing we haven't seen many times before, unfortunately. Now if we could just get these damn mountains up to about 10k feet, we'd be in a much better place.
  20. We have yet to begun to fight. things do look bleak atm, but that's just because we havent had a real prolific period which usually happens at some point. Whether it happens in January, february or march, who knows, but chances are it happens. and then there's mud season. hang in there.
