Yeah, these 50+ dbz returns are definitely putting out 3-5"/hr rain rates.
The lack of CAPE prevented a tornado outbreak, but it couldn't supress the 5"/hr rain rates.

Line is trying to form a bit of a hook in southern hoco along 29.
-
Gonna get a decent amount of rain where that line is training.

I’m guessing nobody bothered to measure until it was too late and everything had already melted.
It’s a huge abdication of responsibility if that’s the case.
It swept through the area. Everyone east of MT Airy got similar amounts although it my have accumulated more in colder spots.

If you're curious, the highest temperature DCA ever recorded the day before accumulating snow prior to today was 74 degrees on 4/7/72.
If DCA recorded more than a trace, it would obliterate the record.
I lived in Boulder for a year and this tops any temp swing snowstorm we got there.

Incredibly wet, partially melted snowflakes, but still clearly snowflakes now. Less than 24 hours after 88° temperatures.
Probably a record. I think it was like 60 in March 2015 the day before it snowed, but this blows it out of the water.
