  1. Sounds like you lot made out well. Super happy for y’all! Snow storm dreams are made of meanwhile in Clarksville we’re still in Arctic blast city - kids haven’t been to school Since the Friday before the ice storm and they just called off for Monday too. Not a single school parking lot has been plowed yet.
  2. Just poppin in to say congrats fellas!!! Enjoy your snow. I’m up here keeping the fire going got the Arctic blast but no fun white stuff to go with it
  3. We’ve made it to the end in Clarksville and can see the light. Still have power for now but no internet. back down to 19° from 30° and is finally very lightly snowing but won’t be for much longer.
  4. Power going down all around Clarksville. So far so good but I doubt it lasts much longer. Cooking what I can.
  5. Exactly. Doing the same. Also cooking bacon eggs biscuits and 2 packs of chicken and 2 packs of steaks so we’ve got something cooked already. Charcoal and propane grills ready just in case
  6. Power outages now popping up all around us. Green arrow pointing to my general area. About 2.5k homes without power right around me.
  7. 3-4p is rough man. That’s rough. I was really hoping we only had maybe 4-5 hrs of ice left. I really don’t see how there’s any way at all I make it through the other side of this with power. but, at least I prepared. Thanks to yall for keeping me educated as always and helping me keep my babies and my family safe!!!!!
  8. First light shows a story worse than I originally thought. I need the ice story to end soon or we aren’t going to make it with power much longer unfortunately. About an inch or maybe more of over hang off of everything and the total amount of ice layer on everything looks to be approaching .5 if not already .5. any ideas on how much longer this is supposed to keep it up for my area? What’s the hrrr/nam/rap saying?
  9. That last bit of wood I used brought inside up to 71°. Outside is 31° but the unit is frozen under .3-.4 in ice. Also - here’s TWC app’s precip radar for our area. Pick a damn struggle Clarksville!!!!! Every single precip type is showing for the city - rain, snow, sleet, ice.
  10. Oh no, Holston. I hope you get it back ASAP. Whatever that flicker was that just happened knocked the neighborhood two down from me out of power. It’s creeping closer and I’m praying. grab your fireball. Body gotta stay warm after all.
  11. Mother fuuuuuuPAsvouvPiavupavpa. Lights just flickered all the way off like 8 times. Back on for now but….man. Hold strong little grid hold strong.
  12. Speaking of fire - it’s acceptable to have a shot of fireball at 539a right? If not - call me unacceptable, eff it.
  13. Alright. My last load of fire wood just went on the fire. youngest son has been sleeping next to it all night. Once this burns out, going back to bed. Inside back to 69° and hopefully 70° here shortly. saving the rest for tomorrow. depends where you look but anywhere from 29-31° outside, light freezing rain/mist continuing, probably about .3 accreted so far. Night y’all - I wish you all warmth and power.
  14. Finally went outside to check. it’ss not great that for sure. Everything is iced over, all surfaces have a very thick layer of ice but didn’t measure. .3 maybe more is my best guess. it’s falling at that perfect accretion rate - drizzle and mists.
  15. Oh my friend I am so so sorry. Hopefully it’s just a quick out and in. A long flicker. stay warm <3
  16. Cold weather advisory hoisted for my location - from Sunday evening through noon on Tuesday. School has already been canceled through EOD Tuesday. Main warning with the advisory is windchill down to -10°.
  17. Waiting for daybreak to go clear ice off the unit outside, every time I turn it on it kicks into auxiliary mode but until then, this is what is keeping us warm brought us from 60° inside to 68° in the last 90 minutes. Man, I love a fire place.
  18. Current: anywhere between 28°-30° (different locations showing different things dewpoint up to 27° solidly freezing rain accretion at a very decent pace this may be the push needed to knock it all out really praying it isn’t, but, prepared for this so we’re all good
