Misery doesn't even begin to describe this April. Trying to find something good to say. The only thing I can think of is that when it does hit 50 or above it almost feels like its 75, (as long as the sun is out). I hope to God this isn't a foreshadowing of the summer. Nothing worse than fireworks with a chilly breeze and a hoodie.

The 240 hr 12z euro snowfall map is the snowiest 10 day period the euro has shown for Ohio all winter long....and it's not even winter anymore. Unreal.

yep. Insult to injury even down here. I know a lot of hungry site maintenance contractors down here who were thinking they'd at least have their first salting event this morning and the rug was pulled out on them. It's an amazing futility stretch we are in....and I'm even more surprised what you guys in Cleveland have been dealing with.

Down here far from the lakes it was also a total failure, nothing like many of the models were showing. Not that we were supposed to get clocked, but enough to whiten the ground or at least dust the car tops seemed almost a sure thing. Could this be a result of this air mass not really being that cold, (relatively speaking)? I see it's upper 20's through most of the state. Usually when you see the best squalls and snowshowers reaching all the way down this way, it's with a significant arctic frontal passage with temps falling into the teens.

gonna be interesting to see what happens. JB this morning is all about extreme cold coming in after a short moderation. Seem to imply that if snow gets laid down, places like Chicago-NY will see the coldest temps of the winter during this period and this cold locks in thru Feb. Did DT bail too early OR is JB just being JB?.... stay tuned!

interesting write up. I'm surprised to learn the models had actually backed away. I was always under the impression that it was a nowcast bust. I've read a lot of posts over the years where people said they went to bed expecting x,y.z and woke up to nada.
