  1. The Euro FINALLY gets some big cape into at least part of the sub by about June 10th. It's been like pulling teeth to get cape values over about 100 this year.
  2. 37 here this morning, stayed frost free luckily.
  3. I remember when you could go to the SPC page and see something that was actually kind of exciting, you know, a slight risk on day 3 or something. I think we've been in a marginal twice this year. Talk about a lame-ass year.
  4. Hi of 48 for the day, and that occurred at midnight lol. Just a miserable day with steady drizzle and northeast winds. Picked up 0.86" since yesterday (0.74" since midnight).
  5. Frost advisory tonight with a point forecast low of 36. Kind of insane for May 29th. Snowing in Marshfield WI atm.
  6. Picked up 0.61" and counting from some storms that popped up overhead in the past hour. Closing in on 6" for May.
  7. Only 0.12" from the decaying IA stuff this morning.
  8. Looks like Cedar Rapids is about to get yet another thunderstorm here in a bit. That place can't lose. Waiting on late night Iowa sloppy seconds per usual here.
  9. Gonna be awhile before we get our first 90. Ground is relatively wet out this way which cuts down on max heating potential, and no heat is in the forecast as well. Looking pretty chilly later this week with some cold rains Thu into Fri.
  10. Already 80/67 at 10am. Some weak convection out in east Iowa will hopefully lollygag over this way this afternoon and take advantage of the more unstable air out this way.
  11. Probably the top 1 or 2 event for any member in this sub so far this spring, congrats!
  12. This March-May stretch has been a mind-blowingly boring stretch of weather and we're some of the lucky ones who actually got some rain. Hopefully something interesting happens in June, or July.
  13. Man it feels like I'm living in Michigan or something with the lack of any severe prospects this year.
  14. Bagged a needle nader out near Parnell IA that afternoon. Little did we know what was going on in the next state south. Can't believe that it's been 10yrs already, sheesh.
  15. 82 here today with dews over 65. Clouding up now with some sprinkles moving in. The gnats are out in full force now, one negative aspect of the recent rains.
  16. Another 0.22" here today, so up to 4.57" for May. Wish we could send some of this a bit further east. We good here.
  17. Damn, different story here today. Had a decent amount of clouds, but plenty of mixed sun and a building cu field. Kind of looked like a storm could pop out of some of those but they didn't. Made it to 83 both here and MLI. These mid 60 degree dews the past few days feel more like the mid 70s after the desert-like air masses we've had most of the spring.
  18. About the equivalent of our benign Decembers lately. Pretty sad.
  19. Just heard thunder for 2nd time since last fall as a micro cell passed over. Had very brief downpour, picked up 0.05". 1.14" total since yesterday.
  20. Steady rain continues to fall, now up to 0.94". Looks like more rains are developing upstream over west-central IL so another 1/4-1/2" is possible by morning. Over 4" for May, and over 13" for the year now. MLI is up to over 14" for the year.
  21. Steady rains all day slowly added up to 0.63" here, 0.82" at MLI. Still some light rain coming down.
  22. The heavier rains didn't make it up this way but still picked up a respectable 0.31", with some very light rain still coming down. Up to 3.19" for the month now. Looks like another slug of rains later tonight/tomorrow morning that could deliver another 1/2" or more.
  23. Santa must have left some coal in his stocking lol
