  1. Outside reminds me of November with more daylight. Lol The modeled cold has definetly lived up to the billing.
  2. A part of me won't mind breaking out the hoodies and pullovers again. But then another part of me just wants to get on with the warm weather, and deal with it, until we get back to fall again.
  3. Despite the light pollution, quite a few stars are visible tonight. Picked up orions belt in the wsw sky. Plus a brighter star in the wnw sky. Could be a planet.
  4. It was kinda funny thinking to myself how refreshing the the air was this afternoon, after a week of damp humid conditions, with it only being early April. Yesterday and this morning felt more like June.
  5. As long as it stays warm enough to keep the heat off, I'll be happy. Not having a gas bill will be nice. $$$
  6. I personally notice a difference the first day of work on Monday. The earlier DST start date, causes me to wake up in the dark, as opposed to daybreak. Of course everybody's schedule is different, I was just commenting on my routine.
  7. DST starts too early. The middle of April would be less extreme of a change in the morning.
  8. Going by the 7 year rule, we have two more years before a 10"+ storm.
  9. Definitely finishing strong down the stretch here.Much better than last year, where everything was suppressed after the middle of February. More dimes than nickles this season.
  10. At least the ground got a good rinsing from all the rain. Plus all of that stubborn ice melted away on my steps.
  11. Well, looks like another grinder of a storm. It's appropriate, being that this winter has been a grind from the start. I will say, no matter what happens here in Pgh, I'm rooting for Jwilson to get a big storm. As much as he's been screwed this winter, I wonder if he can still sit down. Lol
  12. Mabey because most everything last winter was cold and supressed, I never really noticed the odd microclimate that covers the SE quadrant of the metro. Its kinda funny how I moved from one microclimate to another. To be fair however, this area is more of a muted microclimate compared to Coraopolis.
  13. That rediculous little bubble of rain east of 79 and south of 376, that some of the models were showing actually verified. Oh well. Lol
  14. Let it go, it was five years ago. 3-5, 4-6, 3-7...in the end its not a big event.
  15. Yeah, i saw that on the 6z, but just wondering howmuch will be snow.
  16. Kinda disappointing if the current forecast for the weekend holds true. Mabey todays system will bring a nice burst.
  17. Meanwhile down in Virgina, Pitt can't make free throws. At least they got to see heavy snow today. Lol
  18. If I was in Charleston WV, the first big storm in years would have me excited. But at the same time I would be a bit cautious. Their history of WAA screwjobs is worse than ours.
  19. Well hopefully the models will keep us out of the game from the start, so we don't have to deal with a north trend this weekend.
  20. I was thinking about notable snowstorms for the Pgh metro. And as I looked at the numbers, the dearth of noteworthy storms kinda suprised me. Feb. 2003 and Feb 2010 were the last two big storms, and they were Miller B/hybrids. Our real bread and butter is the Miller A though, at least in theory. If I'm wrong please correct me, but I had to go all the way back to Jan 1996, to find the last noteworthy Miller A to hit the Metro. That's a long freakin' time. Lol And of course we had March 1993 and Jan.1994 So we had 3 big storms in 3 years, which has skewed the averages a bit for big storms. Now obviously we've had smaller storms here and there, but not many. We're overdue for a big Miller A.
  21. Yeah, I was hoping the heaviest precip would be snow, then get drizzle/dryslotted for awhile. This trend has been kinda brutal to watch. Lol. For me personally, its still better than the cold suppressed shutout. But not by much.
