2' bullseye guaranteed if you're out of town! Haha.
It's nice to have it in the forecast again. We have a lot of catching up to do. Once again, hope for more of a nw flow vs w.
Looks like our 2.5 week snow drought should come to an end later this week with a clipper and a little lake effect. Not sure if it gets cold enough for heavy lake effect, but several days of snow may add up.
50s felt great today!
Looks like a quiet 10 days or so. Lake will be primed for end of the month. We're going to need a big event to end up at a decent year. Not even 30" so far. Kirtland to Chardon has definitely faired much better. I'd say they're probably around 60" for the year.
We're pretty much in line with in a few inches of last year.....unfortunately.
Mentor is getting rocked. Was there a few hours ago and probably had 1-2" down ready. Healthy band taking shape. Looks like it's slowly sagging south. We'll see. ...
So is that a situation of a decent flow for us, but not enough inland penetration?
Wonder how lake county did last night? That band hung out in that area for most of the night, but don't think it was that intense.
Happy new year all!
Looks like a warm few days ahead in the 40s. Maybe lake effect towards the end of the week. Cle mentions it starting as a west flow. Hopefully we can get a little more NW at some point.
Wonder if the southern areas that were under the band last night (un warned areas) end up being the winners? The cle discussion mentions most areas of geauga are struggling to get 4".
Picked up .75" throughout the day yesterday. The lake effect that did form mostly stayed to the south west.
Looks like a rather boring next week or so. Good news is that hopefully any more ice build up in the western basin will be halted.
While we have missed a few good lake effect bands around here, this December is far better than the past few years.
What a raw day. Temps definitely underperformed. Snowpack still holding on and will be a glacier later today. Hoping for a few inches tonight /tomorrow.
It'll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow night and into Saturday. Does the deep snowpack help us hold the cold air longer? Looks like cle going with 2-4" overnight tomorrow.
