  1. It sure has been a Dec to forget. Sitting around 20" for the season here isn't far off of the past few years at this point, but still a long ways to go. At least the lake is staying ice free and relatively warm.
  2. Ya it made it longer that I thought it would. Looks like winter makes a return around new year's. Until then I'm enjoying the warmer temps and dry weather!
  3. Looks like an additional 1/2" fell during the day. Possibly more, but too windy to account for. Total at 3" since yesterday morning.
  4. Had 1.5" on the deck this morning. Mostly from the Arctic front, but probably a little from yesterday afternoon as well. Total so far 2.5". Looks like some lake effect is trying to flare up.
  5. Ya bummer, I had an inch on the deck, that's about it. Hopefully better luck later in the day.
  6. Yep, agree. Some short range trying to bump up totals. Definitely a good sign as we get closer. Also Cle mentions some lake effect on Wednesday.
  7. Flipped to snow pretty early this morning. Slushy 1/2" down even on paved surfaces. Cle mentioned temps cooler than modeled.
  8. Short range models trying to give us a few inches over the weekend. Hopefully temps cool enough on Saturday.
  9. 2.8" on the deck this morning. It appears temps may have been an issue and didn't quite get cold enough.
  10. The discussion from cle mentions wnw winds 290-300. I believe that's near our ideal flow out this way.
  11. Short range models want to give us a few inches of lake effect the next few days. Hopefully temps stay cool enough.
  12. Didn't get a measurement but looks like a fresh 1/2"-1" fell overnight.
  13. 1" of new snow this morning. Storm total 12.5".
  14. Great start to the snow season! The last winter we had sig snow in Nov was 2014-2015. That year turned out decent.
  15. I've got 11.5" on my deck. Measured in a dozen spots to verify away from the house. Incremental measurements my "fill-in" spotter took add up to 13". I'll see what other reports come in.
  16. Ya I was surprised too, let me know what you come up with. Should be a fun afternoon!
  17. My spotter at home measured an additional 4.5" since I cleared the deck this morning. Running total at 8.5" . I'll have to verify later
  18. Incredible snowfall rates in Chardon right now, has to be 2"/hr . Pure whiteout.
  19. I've got 4" on the deck, probably half that on the driveway. Pretty good start so far!
  20. Heavier precip should help the temps drop. Don't think any accumulating snow was supposed to start until this evening. Edit; just saw this in the discussion " Slight concern that snow amounts will be lower with the warmer air lingering into the evening across the east. However for now we will not tweak them lower and remain consistent with the previous forecast."
  21. https://www.weather.gov/source/crh/snowmap.html?zoom=8&lat=40.53&lon=-81.26&hr=12 The list is towards the bottom
  22. Looking over the snowfall reports, looks like the event was focused east of here...even some decent reports south. Getting a nice flare up of a few bands. Not sure if they will amount to too much.
  23. I had a half inch when I left this morning. There's 2-3" in Chardon.
  24. Thanks for stopping by Ohweather, Good analysis! Looking forward to tonight as well as next week!
  25. I was a bit surprised the snow stuck around all day with the warm ground, sunshine and temps above freezing. Looks like tonight's event is mainly for northern areas, but will be interesting to see.
