  1. pretty good response, i gotta say. also, if you're gonna have a bust, march is a likely time to see one.
  2. how many years has it been since rome was sacked? some things cannot be let go.....
  3. we are getting spoiled already...had some piddly events, everyone was mostly ok with it after last year, and now feeling let down that there might just be a nasty storm that could be a few inches of snow and sleet, when in other winters we'd kill for that. i'm no fan of sleet, but on top of snow with some cold, it can look wintry for awhile. we are too far from game time to know.
  4. so what model would you consider the best, knowing of course that none of them are perfect...there was a met the other day that said this would not come north...lol
  5. does that really mean anything either....this is days away; best we can say is there is some weather ahead. that's all. be prepared either way. it does not hurt to be prepared.
  6. i don't know how, after all this time, folks can confidently talk about a foot plus of snow when we have seen multiple cases of things changing radically even the day before. this was entirely predictable. it might still be wrong. it's only wednesday ffs.
  7. and what can conclude from that analysis....not being snide.
  8. there have been a few of these....jan 2015 and march 2017 come to mind.....and the infamous heavy snow warning of 2008 iirc...as for the valentine's 2007 sleet fest, that was warned about early on as that warm nose was well modeled before hand, i remember craig allen talking about it, and it was in one of those winters where it just did not want to snow here...
  9. i had just started a new job in a school and we were out two days and the only thing that happened was some light sleet.....
  10. made me laugh......i mean really...the connotations here....
  11. when this poster gets serious, i pay attention; i remember this quote from Jan 2016; "this is a storm for the ages.."
  12. thankfully uncommon in this area....still remember 94. ouch. my butt still hurts....hint; don't walk out on the ice....
  13. i'm not seeing the whining; pointing out a rather likely scenario is not whining. i could be wrong. going to bed; covid is kicking my ass.
  14. 5-6 inches here; those set ups favor long island and the jersey shore; the bands skip the raritan bay area and head right out across the water to long island; we get the crumbs. seen it many times. people would come to work from the shore and look around and wonder where all the snow was.....
  15. seen enough of these set ups to know this ain't our storm. too cold, suppression, whatever, can't win em all. well, can't win any big events these days.....i can't shovel big amounts anyway. 3-6 is fine.
  16. looks like the storm that shall not be named.....2/6/2010. this is not quite as massive though.
  17. never keep a lady waiting. its ok for her to keep you waiting, but don't do it to her. it will never ever be forgotten, and when she tells her friends about you, that's the story they're going to hear, and so will the new boyfriend....
  18. maybe we nickel and dime our way to average this year.
  19. just peeked outside..wife let the dogs out and they won't come in. they are having a grand time in the snow. picked up in intensity; battling a stuffy nose; have had shots for flu, covid, rsv, pneumonia....and i still managed to get something.
  20. struggling to get another inch' its just not coming down hard enough here. its mostly mood snow. yesterday's event was more substantial out here.
  21. my bil is in keansburg and reported nothing all day. might be getting something now.
  22. what drives me crazy is the damn tapatalk on the phone....i cannot get rid of it.
