  1. Really snowing hard, too bad it won’t last long.
  2. Pretty good snow shower heading towards I81. Looks like it went over Matt’s house.
  3. It looks like it’s going to move back north of you, probably southern Jefferson County.
  4. After the major snowfall of the last couple of days, I’ve made it to 31.0 inches for the season. 0.7 inch overnight on 0.3 liquid. Edit: I just reread this and it should obviously be 0.03 inch of liquid.
  5. I know we’re still in the range where we shouldn’t be taking this model as gospel but it still amazes me that it goes from a cutter over Green Bay to a surpressed low over Wheeling, WV in basically one run. Where will it be tomorrow, probably over Atlanta. Or maybe it will disappear, lol.
  6. I got 1.7 inches of snow for the 24 hour period on 0.35 inch liquid and 1.0 inch of snow overnight. During a normal winter the 0.35 would have translated into around 5 inches of snow but this year it was actually raining for a while yesterday afternoon.
  7. I want to see your picture lying in the snow. On second thought maybe not.
  8. That event on the 26th that looked promising is now on the 12Z GFS (drum roll please) a cutter! With a Miller B redevelopment. And so it continues!
  9. 34 degrees right now so you know what the consistency of the snow is like. One of these times where we lose part of of the accumulation to melting, especially midday.
  10. It might be your time, Matt. The band is organizing over you. Now the question is how long will it reside there? I was in that area of lighter returns for a while, now it’s starting to pick up again here.
  11. The snow has picked up quite a bit in intensity in the last half hour, falling moderate to heavy right now. What’s it doing at your house, Matt?
  12. Hopefully it will orient itself so we can both benefit.
  13. I finally was able to make an appointment for the Covid vaccine. I gave up on getting one around here and found an opening on February 5 at SUNY Technology in Marcy. It will finally feel nice to not have to worry (at least not as much, lol). This vaccine rollout has been a mess so far.
  14. Yankees are rolling the dice on this one. Kluber’s been injured the past 2 years including a broken arm. If he can come back to anywhere near his Cy Young performance they could have a solid 2-3 pitcher. Not sure if this means they’ve thrown in the towel on Tanaka. https://nypost.com/2021/01/15/yankees-agree-to-deal-with-corey-kluber/
  15. Back up to 34 degrees - let the melting commence!
  16. 0.7 inches of snow this morning with 0.39 liquid. Checking my Ring camera it looks like it flipped from rain to snow around 2:30 AM. Snow is virtually over right now, waiting to see what we’ll get tonight and tomorrow.
  17. I think I’m mellowing out in my old age. Probably 20 years ago I would be as frustrated as the rest of you. At this point in my life I’ve got other things such as Covid to be worried about. I’ll take things as they come with the weather and hope we get one or two events to get excited about before winter ends.
  18. I’m not sure why you’re complaining about his weekend’s weather (other than it seems to be the thing to do on here). We all knew that with the primary low to our west we were going to warm up enough to rain until colder air comes in behind the occluded front. The majority of the weekend shows enough signs for snow around here to at least make things interesting. It’s been said that a hitter will almost always end up hitting to the back of his baseball card. We still have 2 months left in this winter. Let’s see if we can revert to the means. If so things could get interesting around here.
  19. My niece lives just west of Central Square off 49 and she probably gets 50% more snow than me. We always joke that the Brewerton bridge over the end of the lake is the line of demarcation. I like to call it the Arctic circle, lol.
  20. I’m hoping the band makes it to extreme northern Onondaga County like the band on December 29 that gave me 13 inches (half of my seasonal total so far).
  21. I think we’re in a good spot on the GFS, near the baroclinic zone between the arctic air to the north and milder air to the south. That will put us close to the path of a series of lows that originate over the southern plains and track northeast. Right now it looks like they will pass south of us putting us on the snowy side. Of course it remains to be seen how this works out but at least it looks interesting. I’ll take 30 and snow over 5 and bone dry.
  22. I just looked and that is just upwind from me. There goes my lake effect snow, lol.
