  1. Things, I hope, will be improving by summer but back to normal? That’s a stretch. You’ve been pushing herd immunity for a while but immunity from what? New strains of the virus are popping up every day that might require immunity of their own. I hope I’m wrong but we won’t know how close to normal we’ll be until 2022. Believe me, my wife retired last February and we had plans to do a lot of traveling. I want nothing more than a return to normalcy.
  2. Truckee, California. Hope they designed those roofs for that snow load!
  3. Nice shot from the webcam on the summit of Whiteface Mountain this afternoon.

  5. There’s nothing showing up on radar over me but it continues to snow lightly. There’s a slight indication of a Mexico Bay band which the Montague radar is overshooting over me. I picked up 0.4 inch overnight, 0.03 inch liquid.
  6. There’s moisture moving southward down I81. It might be a band forming off Mexico Bay.
  7. Anybody ever watch Heavy Rescue 401 on the Weather Channel? It’s about heavy rescue trucks on the 401 in southern Ontario clearing wrecks off the highway. A lot of them take place in pretty rough weather, especially in the Huron lake effect bands. I imagine the 401 is in pretty rough shape in the London area tonight.
  8. When was the last time we had a negatively tilted trough over the northeast. That seems to be what we need to transport moisture off the Atlantic over central New York. I can remember storms with a negatively tilted trough watching bands of snow moving from southeast to northwest with intense snowfall rates. The storm of January 4,1994 dropped 10 inches in 2 hours in Syracuse at midday. Business let their employees out at the height of the storm resulting in may people being trapped on highways.
  9. I’ve been in and out of snow showers all morning. At times the sun is out other times there is moderate snow falling.
  10. Looks like a snow globe outside. Beautiful mid winter day.
  11. Looks like I better charge the battery to my cordless leaf blower.
  12. Big flakes falling at KSYR. Better deice those planes!
  13. We think Ken’s been doing a good job. Alex had over 36 years to develop his style.
  14. The band has shrunk and moved slightly northeast so there’s only a few snowflakes floating down right now. It looks like another narrow band has formed from Phoenix to North Syracuse.
  15. I’m up to 48.9 inches of snow for the season. 13.7 inches over the last 5 days with hopefully more to come over the next several days.
  16. Measured 2.1 inches of snow and 0.03 inch of liquid at 8 AM. That’s a cool 70:1.
  17. I’m at the end of the band coming off Mexico Bay. Not snowing extremely hard but it’s a nice gentle snowfall with parachutes floating almost straight down.
  18. I think you’re talking about the models and not the stock market.
  19. Andrew Ross Sorkin was just on MSNBC talking about what’s going on and the way he describes it it’s like you guys are waging a guerrilla war against these hedge funds because you feel that they are keeping the price of these stocks low to keep making money on short trading. He’s convinced that in the long run it’s not going to hurt the hedge funds but a bunch of you will be.
  20. The stock market isn’t a reflection of the economy. I believe the Fed’s been pumping exorbitant amounts of money into the market going back to the recession over 10 years ago. Why else are interest rates as low as they are? When I was a kid back when dinosaurs were walking the earth my first savings account paid 5% interest. I guess things were a lot more real back then. And don’t you think that when GameStop comes back to earth that there are going to be people left holding the bag? I don’t mind what’s going on with the Fed. My 454b account has gone up by 50% since I retired 4 1/2 years ago and that’s without me adding any contributions to it and taking a modest distribution from it every year.
  21. Don’t you think that you’re creating a bubble. There’s no way the fundamentals of GameStop can support the price it’s at. At some point the party will be over and it could get ugly in a hurry. We are probably near the top of this market. Other than a few small stock positions the extent of my market involvement is in a 454b plan that has done quite well over the past 5 years.
