We tend to almost always strike out with CAPE and shear here, so we’ll see what transpires.
We seem to always miss out on at least one of them. I’ll take good shear over a high cape.

Fire departments are getting several calls around here for trees and wires down. I’m not sure what some of the gusts were here but they had to be severe storm level.

Thanks! It was a true whiteout for a couple minutes. I had three flashes of lightning as well.

Oh is it not the one by Market St in HBG? I’ll contact the media person who posted this to correct them if so!
I'm sure what you posted is right. I believe he means the cow came from our place of business.

I never thought I would say this, Blizz keep on posting snow maps! It's a lot better than looking at virus predictions.

November was the first case, in December China said it’s going to be a problem.
US memos from early January talk about it, they did nothing at all for more than 2 months. Well except say it’s continued AB not a threat and go to work.
China should have shut down all there airports in and out of there country back in December if they knew it was bad that early.

The world leaders should have reacted far early based upon what was being released by china. the information was all there, our leaders were literally too stupid to act on it. Some countries did and are showing positive results. The ones that didnt (us, italy, spain, uk) are unsurprisingly suffering. This was not an unexpected thing literally our government war gamed against this, our military screamed this was a possibility. This is not china's fault. This is not the worlds fault. This is our countries leadership or utter failing there of's fault. Sadly, the ones who are responsible will never face the blame they
I was not aware China reported this back in November. I thought it was January when they said there was a problem.

I don't mean to be *that* guy but it is somewhat disingenuous considering in many cases CV19 deaths are not being documented correctly (aka being listed as pneumonia or heart failure) we're not exactly getting a clear picture as to the death rates associated with CV19. Is it the end of the world? No, but is it a serious situation that is going to impact a large range of people and to downplay it is not in my mind correct. Especially with our current president and ruling party constantly downplaying if not outright lying left and right about it.
Can you imagine if China would have been truthful from the very beginning. The whole world would be in a hell of a lot better shape! Maybe world leaders would have reacted earlier and would have taken it more serious.

Below freezing for some this weekend.
On the Virus talk seems the economists and optimism are ruling the day right now. It would not surprise me to see Trump start back on his "we need to open up now" rants.
I have been working since this started. There are 800 employees that work here. As of right now not one case here at work. Not trying to be an ass but I’m happy to be working. I get it people are scared and that’s ok, but you can’t stay in hiding forever.

Yep - lovin' me some good easterly fetch...temp is down to 46 and it's raw out.
Yea...I actually enjoy it. I only dislike it when we have a threat of t-storms. It sucks when you see storms firing over western pa, only to fizzle when they hit the cad over eastern pa.

@daxx any chance for severe weather tomorrow?
I believe that western and southwestern pa has the best shot at severe. They look to have the best cape. I believe the easterly flow in our area will limit any decent cape. We will be closer to the warm front so maybe a strong storm or two. Not an expert at all on severe weather, so hopefully Mag can chime in.

3rd consecutive underperforming rain event...
Last week the European model depicted between 3-4" of rain this week. I've made it past the .5" threshold now.
I am at 1.17 since Monday. If I get under some of these localized downpours I might top two inches for the week.

Maybe if we all turn the a/c on It will make it snow Monday.

Anyone else experiencing high winds? The house is shaking - I'm not a good judge of wind speeds but this is exceeding a lot of wind advisories. It is straight out howling here.
Yes! The wind is roaring here.

Speaking of rain, I'm surprised that it's raining now. My prediction of 80 for today is drowning...
You may not hit 80 but you should get close. Mid to upper 70s are a given.

The severe thunderstorm/snow squall the other night was much more impressive here. It's been a wet day I have 1.73" in the gauge.
