  1. Can't recall snow ever doing this on my deck. Usually it fills in the gaps between the boards andbuilds as a solid layer. This stuff is so dry and powdery though, it almost looks like sand.
  2. 12.7°F/2.4°F. Finally, light snow. G'night all, looking forward to nowcasting with you all tomorrow.
  3. Still awaiting first flakes here. Might go to bed soon, hope to wake up to a complete whiteout.
  4. I wonder what models it uses lol also, why is this so comforting? Nostalgia? Yeah, probably.
  5. I kinda love how delightfully old school PSU Ewall remains. Still virga here.
  6. 15°F/ -.7°F DP. Radar returns are overhead but it's all virga for now. (As expected.)
  7. I dunno, but I was inspired by another poster here enough to go out and buy a bottle of champagne for a champagne breakfast of sorts tomorrow. Hand-made bagels are proofing in the fridge right now, so I'll boil/bake those off first thing in the morning to have with cream cheese and lox, and maybe even some poached eggs. In other news... it's super cold out right now! 15°F is the kind of cold where your face starts to hurt after a few minutes.
  8. Apparently ChesCo and also Berks. I noticed earlier this year that there wasn't much available, wonder why that is. We have a bag of that pet-friendly stuff (the kind that looks like tiny shards of glass) and a bunch of leftover kitty litter from when we had cats several years ago. That'll have to do.
  9. Didn't we have something similar in 2016? NWS called for a foot of snow and we got like 4" of sleet out near Coatesville. My front yard was a glacier for like a month.
  10. What NAM are you guys looking at? Still seeing double digits region-wide over at TT... What am I missing?
  11. Haven't seen a map like this in quite a while... and this is only through 7pm Sunday
  12. You're going to bundle them up like they're in some kind of a puffy spacesuit and send them out into it and they are going to remember it for the rest of their lives.
  13. Having lived in ChesCo for a significant portion of my life, I'd definitely try to get that genny working if I were still there now. That said, I'm also going to make sure ours is up to snuff here after work just in case.
  14. Winter '94? I was also on main campus. I remember cars being completely buried and a massive snowball fight in between the dorms. I caught a stray to the side of my head that blew out both of my glasses lenses (we somehow found them in the snow anyway) and then we got in trouble for climbing on top of one of the covered walkways. Good times.
  15. First probabilistic snow maps out. Only goes through Sunday 7am: https://www.weather.gov/phi/winter
  16. Yikes. And my work is still planning on waiting until the last minute Sunday to decide if we're going to be working outside on Monday. OT, but can anyone please clue me in as to what a "FOLKS" is? I keep seeing it in the MA forum. (I swear every time we all start tracking an event like this they just keep making up new acronyms...)
  17. Not sure what that has to do with any of our weather here but ok Down to 2.3°F! Hella cold.
  18. Spent all afternoon lurking in the MA sub. I now have a severe case of whiplash. Holy heck, that used to be entertaining but I just can't keep up anymore down there. Still gonna go out and get the bread and milk tomorrow though. Oh btw it's 3.0°F outside my house right now. It hit 5 this morning, and one of my dogs was trying to do a kangaroo poop because the snow was too cold for her front paws, poor girl. Might try to put on her booties tomorrow morning but I'm not sure that'll be any more comfortable for her...
  19. My salted areas are now caving. This is awesome. Bonus round! (Didn't think it'd make it this far inland)
  20. Snowing here again, already picked up another 1/4". Previously cleared driveway is caving. Thankfully I salted the sidewalk, so that's holding firm.
  21. Already got an inch here in Reading. A nice surprise to wake up to! 27.1°F
  22. Huge pingers against the windows. I noticed it was leaving small "craters" in the already fallen stuff, so I stuck my arm out the door and discovered the largest sleet I've ever seen. Between 3/16" and 1/4" in diameter.
