Ours have been open too. But if there is too much snow on the ground for them to drive in they will close. Which is why our new snow day policy was put in place during the pandemic. It usually is if school buildings are closed but central office is open no school day. Has been changed to if there is snow and the central office does not close due to it online classes will continue. If central office is closed due to snow it will be a snow day and no online classes. And yes they rarely ever close central office, but they had to put this out there so parents will know that a true snow day this school year will only be if central offices closes.

Yea they are gearing up to start Hybrid on Jan 28th here start of second semester. Not an ideal time in my opinion to start up hybrid. But parents get the option to stay 100% virtual and that is the option we chose for our 9th and 11th graders. It will stay that way till the end of 3rd term and we will see where the metrics are over here. Currently all 24 of our jurisdictions are in the red. Defiantly a crazy year. A nice day of snow would mix things up.

I am in Frederick Co MD. We are all virtual. We were told that if the central office is open and there is a snow day online learning will continue. If the central office closes there will be a snow day.

I am making pizza dough

Well after two years of no tree, was in FL last year and young cats the year before, we got a tree to put up. Actually realized I missed having it up. Had a bit of an oh crap moment when 3 out of 8 light strands decided to be 50/50 with working lights. But the tree ended up not being as full as I though my so 5 strands worked just fine. Cats were interested in it last night but it was not decorated. Will have to be on alert tonight with lights and shiny hanging things on it.

I am so sorry to hear this news. As a parent myself my heart hurts for you. Those two small kids will help you through this. I will be keeping you all in my thoughts. *hugs*

I just put together this big pot of veggie soup for dinner. Will add in some pasta before eating but oh it smells and tastes so good.

Anyone on here who puts up even close to what is in this photo, send me directions and will bring the J family by in the family truckster!

Hope everyone had a good day. Mr.J does not care for Turkey and we have not celebrated a traditional Thanksgiving day in years. So this year we had shrimp and grits.

Doing quite well. How are you doing? Not quite ready for the snow here. But it is getting close to that time.

Just took the trash out and it is snowing!

In between the light flickers got this pizza made.

The wind just kicked up big time, and the lights are flickering. And rain is coming in too.

Just spent the last half hour building a turtle platform. The younger Miss J has a 9" long Red Eared slider, got it from a friend who no longer could take care of it. Anyways she is a big turtle and her current set up was not working for baskin. Got a piece of plexi made some cuts, drilled some holes and she added some river rocks for traction. She is installing it now. Our house is a darn zoo!

I have the Davis Vantage Vue but it is an older model. There was someone on here that got a new one recently that is everything contained in a cylinder housing. Forget what the name of it was. And I know the area you are in. I used to drive that stretch of road over from MD to get to Round Hill, VA until we moved my daughters pony south of Lovettesville.

So Mr. J was unable to find chicken legs at our local Co-op when doing shopping last week. And he forgot to move them to another stores list, so no chicken legs that I needed for dinner. But wait! The Recipe queen has pulled a fast one and came up with a substitute. He did get a couple packs of Boneless skinless thighs as they were a managers special and were being sold half off. I had just thrown them in the freezer to use at sometime. Also have an extra pack of bacon on hand and some chicken scratch... so came up with bacon wrapped chicken thighs for dinner tonight. It's like pantry raider meets the freezer! Stay tuned for my ad lib meal.

Last night on Chincoteague for a much needed mental health break. Rented a house on the Bay on the Northern end of the island. Have enjoyed some nice warm weather. Some beautiful sunsets and skies on fire. Finished off the week with a brought in shellfish feast of which there was nothing left.
