  1. And I officially have two HS'ers. Schedules just came today. And come spring semester they will actually be in a class together. Into to Ag. Science.
  2. Yea I know it is easier for me. Although I will need to stay on top of the newbie HS'er. Was like a fly on a dog pile this past spring with her to make sure stuff was turned in. There was more leaneancy then not so sure about in the fall though. Both girls have picked their respective "schooling" zones. They are both actually going to use their school laptops to run through the TV's for a bigger screen for the F2F on Google meets. Then use their personal laptops to do work on. So one will be down on the 3rd level and the other will be on the main level. I told them there is always room for tweaking. I really think a lot of families have learned a lot about each other through this process.
  3. We are still waiting on the girls schedules. Both are in HS this year and the sample schedule is as follows. Mind you having HS'ers they are pretty much on their own with this schedule unless they need help from us with anything. Will be interesting as Mr. J is still working from home for the foreseeable future. And both girls will be on video F2F for a decent chunk of the AM. Made sure we were at the top tier for downloads and uploads. I do like that they chose to start HS'ers an hour later than normal start time. Now just need to see if in the afternoon they will be required to show that they are logged on in some fashion till the 3:30 time. Or if that last section of time they are on an honor system. Did find out that the oldest Miss J will have her dual enrollment class next semester. So we are not on the hook for the tuition till January.
  4. That looks great! What is the heat factor with it? While they don't mind spice in curry they tend to not go for heat. Could leave out the Thai green chilies.
  5. So the Miss J’s love curry. Found this fantastic coconut chicken curry.
  6. Man I miss that guy! No fights though in that episode. They must have sent all the problem folks outside.
  7. Because Waffle House is trending on Twitter.
  8. After a hiatus of baking due to the nasty tropical weather we have had, these clouds and rain have me in the mood. Working on Roasted Tomatillo garlic salsa and spices oatmeal apple bars.
  9. Currently under a nice slow rain. Not a huge amount in the gauge, only 0.03" so far but at this point I will take it.
  10. Could have joined you with some shrimp and grits and fried okra.
  11. Just stepped out on the deck after seeing that there appears to be a haze in the field behind my house. That haze is almost like a fog as the humidity here is 87%. Gross out!
  12. Ended up with .73” over here. And the wind was up from the storm that I was under and the one to my south pushing out north.
  13. Well recipe change. We are out of milk and Mr. J wants to wait for our milk delivery tomorrow. Makes sense he likes to limit interactions out in the stores. So making Pork Souvlaki with Lebanese potato salad.
  14. Going to be a Shrimp and Grits night. With extra special side of fried okra.
  15. As a parent I watched the BOE meeting on the decision for FCPS. While there was a vote for all online learning, there are teachers who are volunteering to come into the buildings for very small face to face sessions. And from what I understand that is what most MD systems are doing. Special Ed, ELL, those without reliable internet and at risk youth will have the opportunity for in school time. Just had a questioner from my girls HS this week where one of the questions was asking if your child was considered for in school time if you felt comfortable with that. These are the behind the scenes decisions that are taking place. They are also going to have the buildings open as some teachers have asked to teach out of their classrooms. No one decision is a good one. But they are working as hard as they can to accommodate every student and option. One other interesting thing I learned from our BOE meeting was out of a district with 42,000 students the number of students who did not log in this past spring for various reasons was around 800. They have said they are working to identify those students and find out why they could not or chose not to log in. And if need be those students would be added to the list of small groups to bring in.
  16. Ok so anyone else suffering sinus wise with this humid warm day after day weather we have had?
  17. Did not last long. But watching that cell over Leesburg. It has got to be insane there. Have friends just south of Lovettsville just outside of the flash flood warning getting dumped on.
  18. Ok so filled in pouring over here now.
  19. I have storms all around me barely moving.
  20. Saw a view of it from in the city. You could see the blowout rolling through and debris coming in like a wave.
  21. Going to keep my obs in this thread as we are not fully in the brunt of this storm over here, and don't want to get my obs in the way of more serious obs. Currently 1.02" IMBY station. Occasional light winds. Current other stats are 69/96/68 Pressure is 29.00 and falling.
  22. Getting a lot of flashes off of those storms well to my North in PA down here in Frederick.
