  1. 0.15” from this morning. Dropped the oldest Ms. J off at Dulles for a trip up to Maine. She said it was quite a bumpy takeoff. Just made dinner and stepped out on the deck to see if we were eating out or in. Promptly decided to eat inside tonight.
  2. With it looking like the rain is done, here is my final month tally for May. The cell that went through here before noon put me at 10.04”
  3. Just got put under a large Severe Thunderstorm Warning that stretches most of that line.
  4. My Weather Network app has it. But like others have said RadarScope does not show it unless you go into the current watches issued. Radar Omega is showing it though.
  5. So my week total is 2.27 with a monthly total of 9.47. With the potential of the rains tomorrow night will most likely go over 10” for the month.
  6. I just looked into the manual. Increments of Rain Definitions Rain rate or hourly rain; Rain event; Daily rain; Weekly rain; Monthly rain; Total rain Total rain is defined as the running total since station was powered up. So looks like at the start of every year you need to to reset the total rain amount to get a yearly reading. So will have to wait to do that. I never knew it was there to be honest.
  7. My gardens have been extra happy this year.
  8. 0.52 currently under a heavier band of steady rain.
  9. Current temp is 58. 0.22” so far. Cats are not happy that their 4 day catio lounging was interrupted.
  10. Feel a definite difference in the humidity today. Temp 69.3 Dew 52.3 Humidity 55
  11. Beautiful morning. Having my tea out on the deck. While the dew point is still high, the humidity is not in the 80’s. Nice breeze out of the South.
  12. Mr. J texted me that sirens were going off in Bowling Green KY. Him and his dad went into the bathroom in their hotel. There was a confirmed tornado on the ground to their SW and it continued to stay to the south. They are all safe now.
  13. Yes we were. I have been a spotter for close to 10 years and felt that I needed to understand the radar better. Being Dyslexic I was not sure how well I would understand, but yes they did a great job and it was easy to follow along with.
  14. Picked up 0.61” out of that line and the storm just before it.
  15. Anyone in the path of this line get ready. That was intense. Wall of water just opened up for about 5 min.
  16. No hail for me. But a lot of lightning.
  17. Raining so hard visibility out the windows is low.
  18. Warning just got dropped on the storm that went through here. Very heavy downpour. Wind has picked up now.
  19. Pouring under this storm. Getting dark really fast.
  20. I usually do not post in the banter thread anymore. But my anxiety is up this morning. Mr. J has been on a Corvette run with his dad this week. They are currently in Bowling Green KY. The weather there later today is showing he will be in the Moderate risk area for storms with strong tornadoes possible. I told him I would be watching all day to help them be safe. I just recently took the Advanced SKYWARN training on Radar and feel a bit more comfortable when viewing it. But in the back of my head I would rather he and his dad not be there.
  21. Wow just did some weeding in the garden. The humidity is yuck. 73 temp 68.9 dew point and humidity of 86.
  22. The humidity is yuck tonight. Went out to put the umbrella down on the deck table. As I was tying it up I could feel that it was damp. Mind you it was up all day so any moisture from the rains would have dried out. The deck surface also felt damp after being dry all day.
  23. Had a small amount overnight. Event total is 2.40”. I know it is not everywhere, but the sun is out and there are patches of blue sky which is exciting the birds to start their songs again.
  24. My event is now up to 2.36”. Just had a small batch of moderate rain come through.
  25. Frederick Scanner reporting a water rescue in Walkersville at Devilbiss Bridge Rd./ Monocacy River. Apparently someone put in a kayak and it was found without the Kayaker. Also mountain rescue on Appalachian Trail at Annapolis Rock. FrederickScanner.com
