  1. Dew points back up on my station. 83/77 dew 75. My month rain fall is sitting at 0.06”. Grass has been done for a while, but the trees really tried to hold on. Seeing more just in the last week dropping yellow leaves and just generally looking stressed.
  2. Currently 72. Have been noticing the tree line behind my house is thinning out. Lot of leaves starting to fall out here also. All those gains we got back in May have been zeroed out.
  3. Had no clue that there was even any rain here. I have stopped looking at radar lately.
  4. We noticed it last night when eating out on the deck. Was wondering where it was coming from.
  5. Just ate dinner on the deck. Mr. J said it feels like September. Told him it smells like it to. I attribute that to all the trees stressed from our past low precipitation July.
  6. So we have stuff we need to get done, but came out to have lunch on the deck and have been sitting here for close to 2 hours. Nice to not hear all the air conditioners running non stop. The birds are singing and the cows are mooing. Glorious!
  7. 64/64. Have not be outside yet but can see a light breeze and clouds.
  8. .08” today. 2.74” for July. Better than last July. Still crispy landscape around here though. Will see what August will bring.
  9. I just got scraped by that storm in SW Frederick Co. Watching radar and looked wild.
  10. Just caught the edge of the warned cell over here. While got a decent downpour only picked up .07”. My area in July just really struggles with storm movement.
  11. The older Ms. J caught the tail end of a storm at her apartment in NW DC. Told her I was jealous.
  12. 93/66 with a Dew of 80. Feels like 113. Severe Thunderstorm Watch and Flood Watch. Seeing all the stuff pop to my S and E and guessing this may be yet another day of being under watches and not seeing a drop. Got back from what we thought would be a beat the humidity at the barn this morning. No such luck. I don’t even know why I took a shower this morning. All I could keep thinking is only about 12 more hours of this and then will be bowing down to the Canadian’s for pushing their cool air in.
  13. 86/74/77 Went out on the deck to water the container plants and came back in all sweaty. Am counting down the hours for that cooler dryer air to come in tomorrow evening.
  14. Just rolled into the barn down in Aldie. Just in time for that blob pushing through here. Breeze feels good through the barn aisle.
  15. So got a nice .36” out of that storm. But you know it is still so humid out when the windows are all steamed up. Looking out the back I can usually see the tree line in the dark. But the windows are so fogged over you cannot see anything.
  16. Getting quite the ruckus off of that storm South of Point of Rocks.
  17. Picked up .63” out of that. Decent downpour and cooled it off to 77. Had some good thunder and lightning as well. Power went out once but reset.
  18. Cell just popped up out of nowhere. It is raining!
  19. 94/62/79 feels like 112. Have some clouds coming in. Grass over here in the past few days has decided to just stop. They keep cutting it and that has just taken anything it was holding on to away. Have also noticed along 270 and 340 several of the smaller tree types full yellow. 1.62 for the month.
  20. The older and J’s first year in college, 3 years ago, she had to created a social media campaign about the life cycle of the lantern fly. It was to help people know what to look for and what to do when you see them. I forget what MD agency was running it. Anyways it was the first we had heard about them. Que last year and they were all over. The numbers have seemed to have gone down a bit this year from what we saw last year. Have heard that bats and praying mantises love them. So we have decided next year we are going to get some mantis eggs and spread them around.
  21. 79/74 with a dew of 70. Was out pulling weeds, only thing that is keeping green with our rain shut out here. Could feel the humidity but because it is partly cloudy the feels like temp is 82. Catio is still out with 2 out of 3 furballs enjoying it. Figured let them out as probably tomorrow it will be coming back inside.
  22. Absoutly glorious out watering the plants this morning. 76/61. The younger Ms. J was dropped off yesterday for a camp helper for pony camp. She hit the jackpot with this nicer weather. May even put the Catio out for the furballs.
  23. The difference coming into Frederick on 270. Sunny with scattered clouds. Meanwhile know what is just down South.
  24. Decided to get home. Flooding starting on Clara Barton. 495 is slow but moving.
