    Not only is it better than 6Z, its supportive of the "chance" of wet snow if we can time something right. This is going to be called the winter of tease if this keeps up. No real major warm ups, that sustain, with occasional decent cold that bleeds over from the Western trough. So the tease is that there is always a chance of something timing right. But 12GFS wise, there are no slam dunks at all in the cards. Just a chilly pattern with storm tracks to our west.

    It's not showing much in the way of turning in our favor yet. But its still only 12/21. We can probably punt Christmas though.

    A LOT more rain. Want not expecting that for some reason. FFW type rains at night (well the total qpf map is not nearly as impressive as the radar.) That sucks actually...if it played out. For those following the Christmas Forecast contest, low 50's for highs on the GFS (LSV).

    Only up to Sat AM. Chilly Wed and Thur. Friday in the upper 40's and low 50's. Like last rain storm, the emphasis on the rain is lifting away from the LSV into Middle and Northern PA for Christmas eve.

    One of the most important 12Z GFS's, for the rest of the year, is rolling.

    I think it sucks at determining actual weather a day or two before an event but out in the late 100's and 200's (0Z) it sometimes leads the way in pattern recognition.

    It is actually scoring higher than the GFS in a 3rd party model rating I saw the other day. They used front positions and eventual long wave patterns to gauge. I will see if I can find it. Ukie was 1, CMC 2, Euro 3 , Icon 4 and GFS 5. They did not gauge the Fv3.

    It's right as often as the other models when it comes to MR and LR. Just another dart in the belt clip. What model is right?

    Training is parsing. We are getting into real winter now. The Euro at least had some pity snow for the LSV. GFS was snowless and torch.

    If he looks at 6Z, I am calling Palmyra Emergency Services to check in on him. I still think my 49 for Christmas is going to bust way low.
