    Decent rain here and 32. We did get some sleet overnight so mulch is white...some roofs. Roads just wet but its 32 so I guess that is expected. Still fun to see some white.

    Latest HRRR. I think this does end up being quite newsworthy in at least the outlined area.

    Moderate rain and 32 here now. Some sleet on the patio so there was sleet at the very start. Some icing on elevated surfaces. I can hear the rain from inside so its actually coming down pretty good.

    And 1500 to 2000' feet elevation :-). They are saturated at this point though.

    31/29 here. Wundermap shows the Catoctins are really primed for a good glazin if its rain and not sleet.

    I am not calling anything I was responding to Carlisle saying the models were downscaling. No way there is 1/2 to 1" ice accretion when the temp is near freezing. That is all.

    I hate to be a broken record but I think its incredibly hard to have a significant icing event unless temps are starting in the low to mid 20's (assuming WAA warming is why it is ice and not snow).

    GFS is through most of the first week of March and the highest 18Z temp at MDT, one day, is 45. it is a chilly run.

    Most models had some occasional light stuff today. Main WAA is while most sleep. Look at the 3K qpf map. LSV dry slot again.

    All the talk about trends this year...the thing that most sticks out to me about the 12Z HRRR is the lack of qpf. Outside some light scattered stuff, its basically a midnight to 4PM thing in the LSV as to that initial WAA. That qpf reduction, regardless of reason, has been happening over and over recently.

    31 here this AM. HRRR steeped down a tiny bit again and is a bit more icy than previous 48 hour runs however its still 31-32 temps in the LSV.

    The NAM 12 is lighting up the MA board. LOL. Interesting that it has some backside FRZ for western LSV.

    It just happened a few weeks ago. Waynesboro cancelled school for some showers. As some have said the shortage of teachers who were healthy also played a part in that.
