  1. Yea, its not always actual HIA vs just calling an area HIA. You are not exactly a concrete jungle in Historic District. But reports of below or at 20 right on the Beltway around DC. Any given night can have better radiational conditions to our south but its is indeed not an uncommon experience. Temps in the LSV seem to stay above forecast level times when areas to their N,S,E and W do not.
  2. An example of the HIA can be seen than by looking at the MA Ob's thread. Almost all the lows were between 18-22 and that is in low lying beltway areas in many cases. This is not a one time thing. Those guys regularly report temps below the HIA area.
  3. I was surprised Whitetail was not still open when I went by this weekend. Guess that 7-10 days of above normal was too much for them to overcome after a sparse winter.
  4. Is missing a snowstorm on April 10th really an FU though? It would do a lot of devastation to have 20" of wet snow fall.
  5. The MU KU. 0Z had it though a bit farther west.
  6. While we freeze, Penguins bake...Polar Bears have no comment. https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/28/weather/antarctica-world-record-high-temperature-anomaly-climate/index.html
  7. The NWS Wind Chill Calculator will not allow wind speeds above 110MPH and wind chill is only -10 with a surface temp of 20 at that speed. So, I guess you can kiss my ass goodbye
  8. If you look down south of me you see a 16 and a 19 just to my West. It is up to 19 here now. Elevation helped this AM.
  9. I scanned back and found my post a few pages ago. It was 2 degrees colder than the 0Z when I posted so 18 or 19 for the LSV. MDT's low is 23 or 24 for it was 3-5 degrees too cold 18 hours out.
  10. I can only go back to the 0Z from yesterday which was 20-22 for you. It may have been a little lower in earlier runs. I posted something yesterday that was lower but forget if it was the HRRR.
  11. The high here at 25 is pretty much unheard of for a non major snow storm day approaching April. Winter has 2 to 3 more weeks of time with us though. Lol.
  12. The MU KU. I wonder if Elliott knows he is the second most famous Elliott in weather now?
  13. CB's have been replaced by texting while driving?
  14. Again, driving way too fast for the conditions.
  15. They changed the article. The Previous one said 40 vehicle pileup. They reference the change in this article.
  16. The Pennlive article on the I81 crash said no fatalities.
  17. It seems doubtful that MDT will gain 3 degrees at this point. If they do not, we have a new record. Here are the HRRR lows for tonight. The record low of 14 (3/29) seems out of reach at MDT...Pillow may be in play though.
  18. Newspapers missed their last PV mention opportunity of the year.
  19. At least they were back in the trees. But yes, someone could have bulldogged right up that small hill.
  20. Live pic from Baltimore where people are lined up for the 2022 Spring has Sprung parade.
