I totally got your drift. If the GFS was showing 80's then back into the upper 60's I would say that could be called Sustained warmth but it has been showing another bulge in the jet stream and a coldish post Easter (for April Standards).
May hit 80 early next week....sustained? Eh, not sure about that.
PS-I noticed some of the Spring Flingers in the MA are moaning. One of these years they will stop spring flinging in mid-Feb and avoid the curse that have set onto themselves. LOL
The GFS does have a mini heat wave next week before the cold comes back in. Something to look forward to if wanting to get out. Finally breaks 60 on April 11th.
I hope if it comes it is with little wind. April 9th and 10th look a lot like the previous weekend (not last weekend) state wide snows for 3-4 days Windy (unfortunately) with constant rain or snow showers coming in from the West.
3rd Sunday in a row I had to cancel Tennis due to Wind Chill. This may be a living in the moment statement but as of now this Spring has been lacking compared to other recent ones. We had that one stretch in early March but even then it was windy though warm.
It does suck. Either snow or be nice. It's 45 here right now (punting 50 today) and a wind chill of 34. Might as well be January. Rain and snow showers just north of us.
It is just so strange how the central lsv is consistently higher than the DC area on a lot of mornings. It is not always cloud based or any other specific reason that I can see.
