  1. I think this part of the MU commentary should be posted (below). Albedoman called it. I suspect the Government will be up here late month if this comes to fruition. Most farms are fully protected by different laws that "encourage" them to farm so the brand-new US budget is going to take a hit from the Mid Atlantic if the drought continues. FWIW, this is still not nearly as dry as the 2020 Drought in the Western LSV and slightly westward into the App chain. where some areas had less than 1/2" of rain over a 2 1/2 to 3 month span. Areas slightly to my west were in D4 status locally though that did not show on the USGS large scale map as it was micro based. Hundreds of people had to have their wells drilled again or drilled deeper. The Monthly Drought Outlook for June forecasts a developing and worsening drought across a large portion of the mid-Atlantic States, including most of MD and PA (see below). With little rain ahead in the foreseeable future, expect large diurnal temperature variations to continue and impacts from the drought to become more detrimental and far-reaching. By mid-June, farmers may need to begin irrigation efforts to prevent crops from dying. Water shortages will also become a concern, and water restrictions could certainly become a reality by the end of June or July. The duration and severity of a drought are very difficult to predict. One soaking rainfall of just 2-3 inches can change everything, but it doesn't look good in the coming weeks..
  2. When is the next one, that is the big question.
  3. Also, here is that Rgem panel I spoke about. Score one the Habs. Really frying panned the East LSV first.
  4. Yea, MDT is dragging...they are up to 86 now. CXY just hit 89 at the last reading.
  5. Some of the coldest air in the mass populated areas of the Northern Hemisphere pivots over PA mid next week on the GFS. 850 Anomalies
  6. Nooners, sunny and quite warm. 80 here and MDT 84 at 11:45.
  7. LNS a toasty 91 while CXY and MDT only in the mid 80's as of 11:30. The Rgem has the highest temps in the Eastern LSV today so on the dot so far. It does not get to 90 out this way on the Rgem.
  8. Sweet, sweet Sunday. Nam is almost always low on sunny days but I will assume its prog is 70 just after lunch.
  9. Elevation winning day it seems. Up to 70 now. Neighbor is 71. I bet the damn breaks at some point and we make a run for 90. Not mid 90's though.
  10. Yea, East is the beast tonight and early tomorrow. Still only 69 here at 10AM.
  11. Still 65 here. 12Z HRRR gets the first showers cranking in Lanco, York and Adams around 3PM today. Fingers crossed. Pretty widely scattered.
  12. I meant why they might frown on tailgating, you do what you want...not my role to advise. LOL.
  13. Drinking lots of beer in mid 90's heat is a great way to risk test out ones insurance policy! LOL
  14. Has that feeling this AM. June hot. Up to 62 here.
  15. I would garner I spent about 8 hours the last two weeks hand watering our yard. I am slowing walk through and spraying beneath my feet, so I know it gets to the dirt. It does not keep things green but keeps it from dying in hopes it rains at some point. As long one keeps the grass alive, it will come back quickly when it rains. When the water restrictions start, I will be SOL.
  16. A windows open low of 51. Over 30 days in a row, stopped counting, of lows below the MDT norm. Back up to 57 now though. Rain on the docket for some lucky Easterners late this evening and overnight per mesos.
  17. Already down to 68 at Rouzerville and 66 at Pen-Mar! Could this be the summer of our childhood memories getting started today? MDT dropped 6 degrees in 15 min down to 75 already.
  18. GFS is cool to normal and dry going into Mid-June. We really need this weekend to come through.,
  19. Clmate change cancel? LOL MDT already down to 84.
  20. MU topped out at 88 today. They are becoming the cold spot of the lower LSV. No UHI to inflate temps.
  21. Them was fighting words with all the climate change angriness going on. LOL.
  22. Tamaqua may have highs in the 50's and 60's in the near future so do not worry too much. GFS not liking an early full on summer. We camped out at 87 and are stuck there still.
  23. 84 in the 'Ville West. Probably not going to be a 90 day here. MDT a bit closer at 86. MU banging an 84 as well.
