Heard my first cicadas this evening. Seems sortof late but then the spring was prolonged so maybe the soil finally warmed up enough to finally hatch them. Currently 86.
Not even close here...I barely see a lightning bug even with these hot temps.

Went from cool/breezy yesterday to a case of the muggies just like that...

Sky clearing and sun is now out. That rain is going to equal steam bath today (at least until the cool front comes through to drop that temporarily). Temp up to 74.
Pretty dark here (low clouds) but nothing on radar?
May be flakey but accu-weather has me at 99F for a high on Sunday and high DPs....that's baking. I believe the high DPs but not 99F as a high?

Final this morning was 1.8"...probably the best lightning, thunder, heavy rain combination so far this season. Oddly enough very little wind but my lights did flicker a few times. Maybe some more later today...

At 1.17" with another band coming through shortly....thinking 1.75+" when all is said and done.

David Murphy "There may be some heavy downpours" Hell, it went from nothing to heavy downpours and has continued...never light or moderate.

KYW reporting 5-points (in Montgomeryville) is flooded out.
That intersection is hell without any flooding....good luck to them.

Cats, dogs, donkeys, elephants, mice, frogs, leppards, skunks and giraffes are pouring from the skies...
-
Massive downpour...super loud claps of thunder...constant lightning which at times may be too close for comfort.
-
Kinda funny the birds are chirping all happily like the sun will rise soon...but they're going to get nailed shortly.
*Rain has started

Wow - KYW traffic reporter Sam Clover just said he just got a call that "there was hail in Horsham".
It must be on the upper part of Horsham and right on my doorstep....I have nothing right now but a ton of lightning and deep throat rolling thunder.

There's a cluster that formed in Delco moving SW -> NE that might hit me. The other stuff seems to be concentrated in central Montco.
Yeah, that kind of formed out of nowhere and expanding...

I figured you might get smacked from that. The flow is coming up from the south but the whole line is moving to the east. Will see if it stays together enough to give me something. There has certainly been almost continuous lightning off to the west that I am seeing from here.
I think it will although a quick hitter...

Absolutely dumping rain here. Just had a bolt of lightning strike near by. (Can't remember if I remembered to roll up the car windows last evening )
I can really see the lightning down here...no rainage yet.

Prior to the big heat, I'd really like to see some rain tonight. Starting to get dry here. Models show near nada (NAMs) to around an inch (most of the rest). NWS is sort of in the middle (imby more or less). No rain dud tonight please!
We'll get something....you can see it building to the west, a tad south of Pitt.

I haven't received squat so far today in the rain dept. Looks like in the wee hours we may receive something...

We did lose a minute of daylight in the morning, winter is on the way!
Hey now, let's not skip Fall and jump to Winter! Fall is pretty cool and the 2nd best season.
Like yourself I keep track of things like this (length of daylight)...the next big one for me is when the avg high starts to trend downwards. Looks like for Philly we start to trend downwards july 27/28...then Fall is coming!

I'll guess 95-96F tops...up your way 91-94F. Should calm down back in the mid-upper 80s next week some time.
