If our general area didn't have that 7-10 day cloudy period average Oct temps would have been higher and the 2nd warmest temps on that chart may have been 1st. Philly's record was 64.5F/avg/Oct and we hit 64F/avg/Oct. I would think even if half of our cloudy days were sunny/partly sunny we would've broke the record...

Pretty solid Halloween day and evening upcoming. Breezy, temps in the 50s, clouds, occasional shower and leaves on the ground...
Mostly cloudy, breezy/ 58F
I somehow missed this last year why Glenn abandoned his winter forecast. I knew he didn't release a forecast but didn't know exactly why...
"I have determined these forecasts to have marginal what we call “skill.” Skill is anything better than flipping a coin. There’s no reason to do them at this point other than public demand. I’ve always said that if it ever got to the point where I didn’t feel the confidence to be able to do it with skill, then I would ask: Why are we doing it? We used to do them with skill."

Decent blob of rain moving through here/Mont county. Windows open, good sleeping weather hearing the rain fall.
Sandy 9yrs ago today..well yesterday since it's just past midnight...

Read my mind. Changing my car oil/filter...54F/wind/dark clouds/mist and leaves falling and blowing around. I'll take this any day over 80F, high DPs and sunny.
I've given up on this theory. There are years we received "jack" before Thanksgiving and received "jack" during winter. I'll take Nov snow when possible...rather take Nov snow than useless late March/April snow which you know the sun will fry the next day if it even sticks at all.
If you have a stressful day at work a beer and a Bob Ross episode is the way to go. He would brush a couple times on canvas and you'd ask yourself "what the hell is that"? And before you know it a cool scenic painting would appear....usually a nature/outdoor setting. Yes it was on PBS and I think there's a youtube channel dedicated to him.

Damn, Massachusetts had a gust of 97mph. Decent storm for us but nothing like that...
59F / Fall like, mostly cloudy and breezy with leaves blowing around...
Halloween itself doesn't look too bad. Probably mid-upper 50s during late after/evening hours.
Clouds moved back in and breeze picked up. This thing will pivot and we'll get into the rain later today/tonight. Between the rain/breeze tons of leaves have fallen w/more wind tonight. Then the Fri into Sat storm I'll have to dust off the rake this weekend...probably clean up Sunday morning before watching the Birds lose to pathic Detroit.
Cloudy/breezy 60F
