  1. I somehow missed this last year why Glenn abandoned his winter forecast. I knew he didn't release a forecast but didn't know exactly why... "I have determined these forecasts to have marginal what we call “skill.” Skill is anything better than flipping a coin. There’s no reason to do them at this point other than public demand. I’ve always said that if it ever got to the point where I didn’t feel the confidence to be able to do it with skill, then I would ask: Why are we doing it? We used to do them with skill." https://www.phillymag.com/news/2020/12/07/philadelphia-winter-forecast-hurricane-schwartz/
  2. 50's all next week for highs and burbs will see overnight lows freezing or below mid week or so...pretty pumped. 59F
  3. Decent blob of rain moving through here/Mont county. Windows open, good sleeping weather hearing the rain fall. Sandy 9yrs ago today..well yesterday since it's just past midnight... 54F
  4. Locking wheels would be ideal. Wind has just about shut off completely. Window open and not even a breeze. Maybe a couple showers overnight. 54F
  5. Read my mind. Changing my car oil/filter...54F/wind/dark clouds/mist and leaves falling and blowing around. I'll take this any day over 80F, high DPs and sunny.
  6. I've given up on this theory. There are years we received "jack" before Thanksgiving and received "jack" during winter. I'll take Nov snow when possible...rather take Nov snow than useless late March/April snow which you know the sun will fry the next day if it even sticks at all.
  7. If you have a stressful day at work a beer and a Bob Ross episode is the way to go. He would brush a couple times on canvas and you'd ask yourself "what the hell is that"? And before you know it a cool scenic painting would appear....usually a nature/outdoor setting. Yes it was on PBS and I think there's a youtube channel dedicated to him. 55F
  8. Kinda looks like a Bob Ross painting... 52F
  9. Hope any winter nor'easter isn't like that where we get brushed and they get smashed. Ideally, it would be best if we all got smashed...
  10. Damn, Massachusetts had a gust of 97mph. Decent storm for us but nothing like that... 59F / Fall like, mostly cloudy and breezy with leaves blowing around...
  11. Yeah, quite a batch moving down. Light to semi-mod rain here... 47F
  12. It's slow but it is moving down. I'm in heavy mist/light rain now but wind has definitely picked up...
  13. Halloween itself doesn't look too bad. Probably mid-upper 50s during late after/evening hours. Clouds moved back in and breeze picked up. This thing will pivot and we'll get into the rain later today/tonight. Between the rain/breeze tons of leaves have fallen w/more wind tonight. Then the Fri into Sat storm I'll have to dust off the rake this weekend...probably clean up Sunday morning before watching the Birds lose to pathic Detroit. Cloudy/breezy 60F
  14. Yeah, my 88 year old father does the same thing. You have to get into "sleeping shape" to track all the overnight blizzards we usually receive... Light rain 59F....really don't see anything heavy in the general area.
  15. Yep, pingers were around...I had some also.
  16. A line of storms moving S--->N w/warnings popping up...
  17. We posted at the same time, I guess Philly got the record at 77F.
  18. Philly showing 76F which would tie the record....I'm also at 76F although high clouds slowly moving in.
  19. Exactly. Way more NY posters and I would have to read though a bunch of garbage just to find out conditions/forecast in SE PA and Mid-S parts of jersey. *BTW...why the hell was this bumped to begin with?
  20. Finally get some activity tonight and tomorrow with the possibility of storms then mod-heavy rain and wind overnight/tomorrow. Philly record today is 76F...predicted high is 78F. 70F / DP 63F (can't believe I'm still talking DP in late Oct)
  21. No way. It's fine as it stands now. It's not that hard to click from one subforum region to another...
