  1. I'm just looking ahead to the next 7+ days and as far as snow it's kinda meh...which brings us to about Feb 10th. 32F/Still foggy
  2. I'm almost to the point where I would punt the rest of winter in exchange for above average severe weather Spring and below normal Summer temps...
  3. The car had a icy glaze but travel is fine around here. Maybe some leftover brine/salt from the weekend storm on the roads because I don't think they treated the roads this morning. At least I didn't see any trucks out... Fog/28F
  4. That was my longest power outage, 5-7+ days if I remember correctly. Heavy frz rain and temps in the low 20s, it adds up. Trees cracking, falling in the streets and the ice took weeks to melt, rock solid. That was one cold winter...some record lows.
  5. Exactly. I may be a strange breed but I enjoy witnessing severe events and the adversity it may cause. (No electricty, internet, heat, icy/snowy roads) Your body shifts into a different gear and you adjust...
  6. Depends on how quick the cold air rushes in but I would think Berks is prime for some icing.... 28F
  7. Again, it's a weather board. Doesn't matter if I root for it or not, it will/will not happen as we have no control. It could be me, you or a guy down the street named Harry who experience damage. I like active weather. Wind, golf ball size hail, 2" freezing rain...whatever. You haven't been here very long but this subforum is pretty dead during the summer if there's nothing going on. I mean days w/o a post because the weather is boring...
  8. So do blizzards, hurricanes, severe weather/t-storms, tornados, flooding etc. This is a weather board so you take/follow what mother nature throws your way... 38F
  9. I betcha many of us started off using weatherbug then quickly realized it sucked and useless. Hoping for a ice storm Friday, it's been a while. Exploding transformers, cracking/creaking branches and limbs w/a shiny coating on everything ...the whole 9 yards. 38F/sunny
  10. Back in the old days when I had a morning paper route (5:30am) my huffy and I hit the asphalt many times because of freezing fog...quite deceptive. 20F
  11. Hell, if I receive a little mix and 1" of snow at the tail end I'll be happy. Always enjoy rain changing to mix/snow events...total nightmare the other way around. 32F
  12. Glenn wasn't the least bit concerned during his 11am forecast. Pretty much, "It may turn to a little mix before ending." Not saying he's correct but he didn't seem like it was much of a possible event... 31F
  13. What exactly are you worried about? There's no watches/warnings and people aren't filling pools, watering grass, washing cars as they would in the summer. We'll receive precip mid/late week and earth will continue as normal... *Almost fell flat on my ass taking trash to curb...icy patch./ 18F
  14. My record inside a house is 46F with the heat completely off and overnight temps in the single digits/low teens. A house insulates itself. Camping is a whole different story...better have a solid sleeping bag.
  15. Appears the heaviest precip is only going as far as central Mont/Bucks then stationary or moving back east/north. Still decent precip to follow but pretty much, get it now while you can...
  16. Definitely heavier now as the more intense echoes move in... 26F/Steady mod snow
  17. Zooming out, more intense precip moving up while offshore precip moving in...I would think more intense rates will follow for parts of Mont/Bucks counties. 26F/Mod snow
  18. The more intense bands which were only in NJ making their way into lower Mont/Bucks counties. And right around Reading seems to be the cutoff line for the past several hours... 26/Steady snow
  19. Totally agree...like to see snow/wind happen in my familiar surroundings. From a distance, it's still cool but just not the same but I'll take it, better than nothing.
  20. Radar is pretty jacked...bands coming in and from the S moving up. 27F/mod snow
  21. I'll be shocked if some NJ coastal areas don't receive 20"+... 27F/ mod snow
  22. Been watching radar trends and seems it won't extend W more than a little outside Reading. Could blow up offshore and do so...just what I see as of now, who knows? 27F/mod snow
  23. You weren't predicted more than 5-6" so you're ahead of the game...
  24. It's still building to the W and probably will move through Berks eventually but to a lesser degree. Aside from the shore we're in pretty good shape, 6"+. And the temps will keep dropping so we won't lose a flake...then add wind, cool stuff. 28F/Mod snow
  25. I know squat about when the wind "kicks in" but according to Kathy Orr (Fox29) at 10pm she said starting around 3-4am. Deer are mellow/cool... 28F/Snow
