  1. Dogwoods have some color. My blueberry bushes and sweetspire are both mostly red.
  2. With the chilly weather this weekend and some of the western rural areas already hitting their first freeze, it's time to open up this year's contest. You are forecasting the first day the temperature reaches 32F at BWI, IAD, DCA, and RIC. Tiebreaker is warmest October temperature at any of the 4 stations. This thread will lock when October starts so you have a 10 days! Happy freezing!
  3. I think that’s all fair. Our snow totals are small enough and variable enough that seeing a trend in those numbers is hard and very noisy. The climate impact is clearly being seen in temperatures however. We’re getting warmer and losing winter like temperatures on the margins.
  4. Forecast looks cool and dry the next 10 days or so. Should make the colors start to pop.
  5. Sugar maples and some red maples have a bit of color around me. Sycamores are doing their typical turn brownish yellow and fall off.
  6. Near normal would feel downright frigid compared to the last several years
  7. Round 3 ongoing. As sub-severe as the first two.
  8. Classic mid-Atlantic severe here. Heavy rain, thunder, and 10mph gusts.
  9. Same. Been hearing distant thunder for 15-20mins already.
  10. What time will the woostorms destroy my house?
  11. Very sub-severe in Columbia. Brief heavy rain and some thunder. A few gusts that probably exceeded 20mph.
  12. Snow accumulations will be elevation dependent
  13. Watch posted. Radar doesn’t look thrilling to me.
  14. 12z NAM and latest hrrr both have a fairly coherent line moving south out of PA and through the metro area between 5-9pm.
  15. Forecasting cold and snow became an idealogical requirement for him.
  16. You all don’t have enough real data to actually talk about clearly
  17. Very Nina-ish precipitation outlook here:
