Shout out to our crew. We’ve made the hot light come on 4 times this week without a single threat to track. Just imagine what we’d do with a storm.

We are all chomping at the bit to have a good 72+ hr track. The one when you are glued to the screen . LOL

  2. A solid quarter inch of snow on the ground with a temp of 25. Only in the mountains can we have flooding one day and literally snowy roads the next...
    NIce!!!

The winds were worst all night here. Sustained around 10-15 mph with gust at 25. Much stronger than yesterday during the day.

Our cow pond was going over the dam yesterday! Had to dig out a large stump that was blocking the drain pipe. The bank is normally about 5’ down the side!

Couldn't make it in to work (ICC) I-26 is flooding at the bottom of the mountain near the Columbus NC exit. Took Hwy 176 back home to Saluda and can't believe how much water is on the road and how fast the waterfalls are running.  This is like a tropical system getting caught in the southern Apps.

They are closing at 12 today. My wife went in this morning.

  4. Over 2.3 inches now IMBY.

I will retract my comment about closing schools for a rainstorm. It may not be too bad here (yet), but the mountain counties seem to really be taking a beating based on the comments above. This could really wash out some roads and sides of mountains up there.

Out driving around and any low spot in a road not near Creek has water rushing over it.

My place on Beech is wide open to the east.  Just clocked a 60 mph gust with a 10min average of 33mph.   All my highest wind readings I get are from the east.

Wow. Lots more of that is coming.

No wind to speak of yet at my location.

Picked up .89" over night with lots more to come around. On a remote day from school (which is fine with me ) so I can work and track this from the house :)
