we don't live in alaska i don't know why anyone would expect or even want 8 weeks of wall to wall wintry conditions
I dont know of any winter enthusiasts, who primarily make up the population of this forum, who wouldn't want wall to wall winter. Having said that, yes, everyone knows our climo here and the best we can expect is periods of winter mixed in with warmer episodes. But, this is not what has happened. It's been 8 weeks of spring with one week of winter. We should be able to do better than that in an El-nino. Who knows, maybe they'll be an epic period to close it out, although, by the time it gets here we'll be fighting an uphill struggle with climo.

that week in january was objectively the best looking at the AWSSI values at the three airports from the past 7 years and even for all time it ranked within the top 1-2% of weeks winter-wise
if people are complaining about a week like that then maybe u shld move somewhere else cuz ur expectations are way too high
He's not complaining about the week. He's complaining that it's the only week. What about the other 8 weeks of this winter, how do they rank?

Went to Davis and Deep Creek yesterday. Not a flake of snow to be found. Nothing but bare ground. 46F in Davis at 3,000ft+. What a winter.

I feel a subtle can kick happening in LR thread. Suddenly these maps posted arent showing Feb 14th. Now they have Feb 20th dates on them. Huh.
The snowy and cold period is always 2 weeks away! Rinse and repeat. Until we start tracking spring.
Always at 384hr

We've only had 1 week of winter this year. It's been a real snoozefest and these big predictions of above average snow are in real danger.
Yep. I have 7.5" for the winter. A good chance I don't even make double-digits. At least last year featured a notable Christmas cold snap.

I am coming to our VA home for a week end the month and first weekend in March. I have requested a HECS during my visit.
Pretty normal snow pack here in the cascades. This was mid mountain snow stake on 1/26 It settled back to 109" as of today but looks like thick solid base for the March through May ski season.
Prepare yourself for partly cloudy and 48F.

I’m willing to believe there has been no can kick until I read that the GEFS is amazing at the end of its run… which I swear to god we said 5 days ago. Maybe it’s different levels of amazingAlways at the end of the run.

Can't wait for us to track the end of February period and get a big storm on the models...only for most of us to miss it to the south or north after all the anticipation
FRINGEEEEEEEEEDDDDD
There will be misses to the south and north, then one final kick to the nutz with a miss to the east, complete with Cape posting pics and obs from his chase to the beach, right before we hit our first March 80F heatwave.

Yeah. I have faith in our guys here. I really believe this time. I think we'll be tracking before the Super bowl tbh. I just wanna say the F word so bad.
Fail? There, I said it for you. No need to wait.

3-21-18 was the storm when I got some slush in shaded areas. Barely any measurable at all. That was among the worst in a very long line of failures here. Winchester, just 5 miles away, I beleive had 6 inches. If that is what we're chasing I say @#$% it.

Need that confluence for a decent surface High and cold enough low level temps (if precip comes far enough north). Gonna be hard to win here.
The win is rain, which I'd be quite happy with.

Implosion in-progress.

Ridiculous. Should've been a pick.

Unfathomable stat- Ravens RBs had 6 carries.
In a very close, low-scoring game. Makes zero sense.

I have a huge issue with the offensive playcalling today. The Chiefs' run D is suspect so the Ravens run the ball 6 times total with their RBs. That...I have questions about.
It was a horrendous game plan.

I don't have anything personal against her. I recognize that she is a talented individual and an excellent performer. I just really, really hate when the interconnected nexus that is the modern media-industrial complex drives something or someone into the ground.
I just want to see her because she's smoking' hot.

Shake it off, Ravens fans.
Sorry, that was just mean.

I don’t really get all the Swift hate. They show her for a total of about 30 seconds each game lol
I could watch her for the whole 60 minutes. They should pin a camera shot in the corner of the screen. Lol.

You can't stop Taylor Swift.
Lol. Watching the Ravens today was like watching the Cowboys.

Just about 1.6". Not a bust. Good event. Much needed.

Where's the rain? Are we headed for another bust out here?

So December is now the last hold out for sub 80F max temps. Gotta wonder when that falls.
Whatever year it happens, you can be assured it will be on Christmas day.
