Can't speak for him, but we kinda need Friday night to come to fruition out here for rainfall.... Right at 2.71 total precip since January 28th.... With another day here with winds gusting in the 40s and the growing season starting - Its drying out pretty fast....

We are smoked out again here.  There is a fire burning somewhere upwind.

  2. Drove through 31F, heavy snow, with approx 1" on the ground through east PA on I-84 today.  Get back to VA and it's sunny, 65F, hurricane winds and wildfires again.  I'm so goddamn sick of this place.

    0.18 since Monday

    0.35 monthly total

    1.65 for February

Exactly 2 inches since the last big January system...

    Headed quickly into another drought.

This sure has been one hell of an adventure. I don’t have power, I don’t have Internet although my phone still works thankfully. The snowblower that the condo uses to dig us out is broken and they don’t think we’re gonna get any back up until at least Monday. I estimate we’ve had about 7 feet with another 4 to 6 to come. If I don’t get out on Monday which is when my flight is, Tuesday and Wednesday we’re going to get another 2 feet.

Amazing.  I don't have the words.....

Stay safe, though.  And thanks for providing these updates to us.

.38" last 24 hrs.. The Central Valley has been dry for the past month.  The cutoff has been the Blue Ridge. Charlottesville received 1.00" past 24.

Not just the Central Valley.  This is an all-too familiar pattern setting in again.

Great pic. I have to laugh at your "maximize snowfall" comment though. Please don't pull a Ji if you only get 7 feet of snow instead of 8.

The forecast is for up to 13 feet.

My mom still lived in Winchester during those years so I paid attention and I think at least 3 of those winters were 30 plus inches around Winchester is that about right?

Where was I for those winters???  None of them were good.  There were some good stretches out In my part of the county where I was in '20 - 23 that I distinctly remember driving into snowless Winchester often.

I think November is my least favorite weather month.  It starts to get chilly with shorter days, but it's not quite snow season.  I factor in psychology into how I grade months and I honestly think January might be one of my favorites simply because it can and does snow, but I also know that spring isn't too far off.

November means saying goodbye to any chance of 80s (at least it used to).  It also means shorter days, T-day, football, Christmas, and hope of snow to come (and now no longer does).  It and October are my 2 favorite months.
